The Day I First Met Her

Posted by danielctw On May - 30 - 2009

Today is the 30th Of May 2009. I am just a guy who had been doing lots of browsing, going through the internet world, and 2 years ago, I had been joining this online chatbox community called ShoutOut. Well, to think why did I add this in the first place was due to the lively community then and I really should thank Lasker and Elise for that.

In the year 2007, time goes by as everyone gets to know each another. Then on that day doing my daily rounds, on the year 2008 dated 30th May, it was the day that I first got to know someone who will mean something special to me till this day.

For those have my facebook would roughly know who I am talking about.

Minnie Pose

Well, none other than Chia Yen or in the ShoutOut world as prettypink. I must say it was a pleasure knowing her, on the 30th May 2008 and if I wasn’t around on that day and if she didn’t add ShoutOut, I guessed there won’t be any chance of meeting up. So this post is dedicated to her to mark this memorable day. :)

To think that we both had a smooth way to come to where we are, it’s not what it seems. We go through thick and thin to be where we are, at times it’s just like a fairytale story, knowing that it’s fate that brought us together to where we are.

Sometimes it really is magical, knowing that I don’t do certain things and then I do them. For an example this Youtube video of a Birthday Song.

Kota Kinabalu Exploration Day

Posted by danielctw On May - 25 - 2009

It was finally the second day of our trip in Kota Kinabalu where I will meet the rest of the group. Weird thing though is that this is the event before the island trip to Pulau Manukan. The weather wasn’t fine thus I took limited shots.

Here are the past episodes in case you dropped here via search engines.

Part 1 – Flight To Kota Kinabalu Sabah
Part 2 – Pulau Manukan Special

So walking on at Kota Kinabalu town, we stopped at what we called the KK Street Market. Hmmm lot of things to see, though none I would buy. I am impressed though with some of the collections.

Nikon D300 Shots

Kota Kinabalu Street Market

This feels just like Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur where there are tonnes and tonnes of souvenirs and handicrafts. Of course one thing that amazes me is a Top or a “Gasing” locally made. How does it look like though?

Spinning Top Gasing

Now who would have thought of playing a “gasing”/top using this method. The funny thing though, this top produces sound because they punctured a hole in the center. The peddler was demonstrating the way to play the Top over and over again. Well, I was fascinated and my first time seeing this type of design.

Seafood Noodle

Now then after what seemed fascinating, then the group of us had our breakfast which is seafood noodle that was supposingly famous there called New Man Tai. Of course the way it was arranged is a LITTLE BIT WEIRD. Then after that you will now know that we gone to the island hop which was the previous post in Pulau Manukan.

After the island trip, we came back to the Jetty and yes walked the way back to the condominium. On the way saw a few native fishing boats.

Kota Kinabalu Fishing Boats

What a wonderful sight living just beside the sea. Well, you can hardly see these kind of atmosphere in the coming future, so why not cherished it by taking some photos so that when the future comes, people can see what a sight the past holds. After like minutes of walking, finally reached the desired destination. The Marina Court Condominum.

MDG 2009 Finale Special – Dawn and Pinky

Posted by danielctw On May - 19 - 2009

It is the Malaysian Dream Girls Finale 2009 at The Curve and once more instead of showcasing the whole event, I will blog about it in another different way. Like I said, rather than the whole event, this time I will focus more on Dawn Lim and Pinky Liew.

Emcee of Malaysian Dream Girls 2009

The event was started with hostess Elaine Daly and Will Quah coming right on. Well, Andrew Tan came in later of course. It was a magnificent show for the people who attended. Well, maybe it was for me. Armed with my gear I now proceed to shoot them in this event.

Since this is a Dawn and Pinky special post, I will be posting their photos here. Well, who knows, I might do a Ming special for AaronWoolala and also a cover of the whole event. Juanita‘s shot though was rather limited as I couldn’t get a nice lighting.

Starting with the event, they came in masquerade and each of them wearing a mask. So here’s Pinky Liew Mee Han in a masquerade dress. The only thing obstructing this shot was the amount of people at the top left corner. It could have been nicer.

Thumbs up for the design of the dress above.

Pulau Manukan Exploration

Posted by danielctw On May - 17 - 2009

It’s me Daniel back again and this time hoping to relive back the old activeness in me updating blogs and going about talking about my recent adventures. It really deserve a big big topic and post on it’s own, about my Manukan Island experience. Continuing from my previous post, Manukan Island is filled with lots and lots of homo sapiens and because of that there are bound to be so many things to shoot at.

Here are the past episodes of my escapade to Sabah and KK.
Part 1 – Flight To Kota Kinabalu Sabah

Group Pose
The 4 people of The Early Days of Sabah

So what do people with cameras and not snorkeling and playing in the sea do? They shoot photos. Before I continue though, what are some activities one can do on Manukan Island. They can snorkel, they can just lay down at the beach and tan themselves. Rather they can also enjoy walking under the sea. What’s that? Now presenting to you Scuba Doo!

Scuba Doo Mini Submarine

Yes, you can now go move underwater and swim with the fishes and wouldn’t be out of breath. Alright commercial break over. Those days when everyone’s on the beach, they do the above things, but with technology and everyone having a camera in hand, people now have the liberty to bring their cameras all around and everywhere. Just like these people.

Zoom Lens On The Beach

OMG… ZOOM LENS ~~~ What To Shoot??
