Take Photos Like Mad

Posted by danielctw On November - 27 - 2008

You know you’re crazy over photography when you do things or rather take photos at certain angle or rather that you’re always following time and location of things.

What do I mean by that? Take for an instance, when I was in KL Photography Festival 2008. I practically have to fight my way through to get a nice shot out of the models. Here’s how the crowd looks like.

Cameras In Action

The amount of cameras… All holding their DSLR just to capture this hot model. Well, Basically you can call it, errr.. why not make use of one’s camera. What they all have in mind, they just love photography I guessed or rather what they could take photograph with it.

Sexy Pose For Camera

And if it wasn’t enough, you also have the licence to take photos, imagine taking model photos where they will willingly pose for you all because you have this big cameras. Willazz, these ass shots are for you. XD

But look at the photographers, darn lot of guys eh… until I usually hear that guys take model shots because they are horny toward girls, but then that’s a wrong concept. You see if that concept is right, then how do you explain the next photo.

Girls Flashing Their Cameras

Nice lens…. Nice contour… woops… So photography ain’t not just guy’s hobbies. It’s anyone who has the interest in it.

People who loves photography also casually look at their own cameras to study photos, seeing whether the photos were exposed, how they can improve on their shots, and whether the settings are all right. Doing it until they feel that…

Sony A200 User

Ahhhhh….. this is the shot I love, my shots so nice… I must be super good with my A200/D60/400D. Thank you my wife” – wife refers to the camera.

LOLOL (Yes, they say DSLR users treat their cameras like their wife or rather to those that are married, as their concubine) How true this statement thus far, just try and ask any DSLR user (unless that fella is a freaking rich person who can afford lotsa cars or just too much money to spend)

DSLR users have a unique way of taking photos. Most of them have the ability to squint their eyes. Unlike most other photographers. What do I mean by that? The photo would do the explanation.

I Squint My Eyes To Look Thru The ViewFinder

Now, it doesn’t always have to be that you have a big lens, a big DSLR body to be able to compose a shot. But sadly, people now buy DSLR for the sake of buying them. Sometimes they just use the camera like any ordinary cameras. There are no composition, no proper learning up. But well, as the cameras get cheaper and cheaper, more and more ‘photographers’ are blooming up.

But so that you know, since you have followed me through for all the typing that I have done, you will know that it’s good to be the cameraman, the photographer. You can just snipe away and have some fun shooting.

Remember the girl on the second photo. There you have it. Taken at the KL Photography Festival 2008 at Times Square.

Be creative, while taking your photos madly. Because sometimes you never know that some photos will come out extra unique.

You wonder, “Many people that photos must compose the model’s face, I say, be creative, take the back of the head” – WTF?????????

Rare Wedding at KL Tower

Posted by danielctw On November - 24 - 2008

This weekend was mightily hectic. First on a Saturday morning went for a day shooting, and I ended up myself feeling very exhausted and tired due to the insufficient sleep the previous night. That’s why on the way home, I slept until it was time for the wedding dinner to attend. Boy….. the dinner was at KL Tower. Impressive place to have your wedding dinner there and the food… hmm… nice. The view was spectacular too, if it was clearer.

View of KL Panaroma

Mind the reflection from the inside of KL Tower. Well, what can one expect when it was about 730pm at night. It’s brighter up there because we can still see the sun. XD It’s so rare to be on the same level with the mountains and look at everything around. Now I guessed I think why they call Kuala Lumpur a valley, we’re surrounded by hills. Just look at the horizon.

View of Twin Towers At KL Tower

Now you can see how high up were. But this post isn’t about how high we were on top the whole of Kuala Lumpur, it’s about a wedding of an ex-colleague. I will show pictures instead.

Now how would you feel about having your wedding on top at the tower. I would like it too. Only problem is the $$$.. XD

KL Tower View From Bottom

The KL Tower is super darn high. To say that I have been here twice is an understatement. Oh yeah, if you would want to visit the KL Tower at night, it’s only RM4.20 after 6pm as of press time. So, anyone wants to go up and take some shots one of these days??

5 Great Pose Models

Posted by danielctw On November - 21 - 2008

A few days, or rather a few months back.. hmm wait.. it was only a month, a few of us watch a few freaking movie and one of them is a DROP IQ kind of movie which was Disaster Movie. Disaster Movie, more or less like Meet The Spartans, and Super Hero Movie.

Yes I meant this disaster movie. From Batman to Ironman, Kungfu Panda, Enchanted…. etc etc.. now if you have lots of this character into one movie, of course it will be a disaster. You will love the Chipmunks in this movie. LOL…. Let me tell you why. It’s because of the Chipmunks in this movie (Alvin, Simon & Theodore) that we are so crazy over it that we prompt to act them out in our pose for the day, or rather pose for the post in this blog. *sweats*

Post Disaster Movie Chipmunks Wannabe

ROARRRRRRR~~~~~~~ The Chipmunks gang turn killer. You really got to watch the movie to be able to understand why!! By the way, from left, Wendy, Jane, Me (duh..), Aaron & William. Haha.. all are great in making faces. But what the heck, this is all for fun, and yes, this photo was PP (post-processed a lot) for the fun of it.

Rare Java Hosting Package

Posted by danielctw On November - 20 - 2008

Some of you will know, I am a Java Developer by profession. Though I do dwell on PHP too, but I am inclined towards Java. OMG… how many Java Developer are there in this country is usually far less than those who know PHP and why do I say that if there are no statistics or facts to go along with it. First and foremost, look at the number of web hosting packages around and you’ll see that most of them are meant for php. Even Microsoft ASP.net has it’s fair share of the market.

I should be thankful to the Founder of Java, James Gosling too… without him, no such thing as Java Programming. Yeah, he is the guy on the left.

Though that doesn’t mean one can’t do hosting for Java, but there’s a catch though. You see most web hosting companies hardly do Java so the best option is to opt for a Dedicated Server hosting. There are many other web hosting packages but as always, the one place to find is really from Web Hosting Geeks.

So far for me, to compare the price comparison amongst each other competitors for website hosting is still this site. I am talking about Web Hosting Geeks and you can read all about Dedicated Servers here in the link provided. If only Exabytes have their own Java Hosting package, I wouldn’t have to learn up php and just stick to Java.

Darn… but well, this is where supplies meet demands instead of the other way round. Maybe I can start my own web hosting package. Then I can advertise on Web Hosting Geeks instead. Since I will be the only Java Hosting Package there. Fat hopes…. but nevertheless is still a dream.

Sharing Photography Tips

Posted by danielctw On November - 16 - 2008

After about a year into DSLR cameras and photography, I’ve sometimes thought, why not share what I have learnt to others. Well, this has got me thinking also, why not create a blog out of nowhere and talked about few stuffs about photography. Well in line of this, instead of creating one now, I am doing my articles in draft and will be thinking of creating a whole new domain for it. So wait for me while I find a suitable date to launch the website.

A few days back, I had the thought of understanding what was aperture, shutter speed, ‘bokeh‘ and all were foreign to me when I practically started photography without understanding a thing or two. I was more like a photography noob and seriously, I’ve learnt a lot thru reading and experimenting with the cameras and forums. So after seeing how hard it was to learn photography when you’re learning it on your own, it feels that it’s good to somehow help others who are new into it.

DanielCtw giving Camera Tips

Simple tips and tricks of camera and photography. Well, since I am still not even a professional one, so just basic tips and about.

I had my hand on the D2X today and with the 3rd Generation Nikkor 70-200mm lens f2.8 AF-ED lens. The picture was nice and though with no VR, it has to be compensated with lots of other settings. I’ve also found another older photokaki to mix around with. I might even get myself a D300 sooner than I thought for taking up new assignments.

As of now, let’s just say I am no professional, and there are others who are better than me. Look at my photos, they are still amateurish right. But hopefully they’ll get better in time.

I am so random today..

ps : My camera is not with me for a few days, so bear with me with my longer written articles as I go thru a hiatus period.
