• Penang Sightseeing
18 CommentsPictures are coming. Looks like it’s the first Penang Trip of the year. Yes, 3 guys from KL went all the way up to Penang. The same 3 that went for the ShoutOut Penang BBQ just a month ago. We’re just always going up Penang eh…

From left : FireWire, ME & Aaron
Mind me, as we are coming from South, so henceforth the Southern Trio. Okay, we’re not a triad or anything okay, just so happen that the three of us are free once again to go up Penang and have some fun meeting the rest in Penang, Pearl of the Orient.
This time going up to Penang is more than just meet up, we have come to a conclusion that there should be more sightseeing and more food hunting, so off we go to certain places, where I try to capture some of the scenic views in Penang. Well, too bad my camera battery’s gone dead on me or there will be like lots more photos to play around.

Asia Cafe in Air Itam was where I had my first Penang dim sum. Well, it was indeed fun, get to eat food and thanks to JJzai for bringing us out for breakfast. Really appreciate all your troubles. Even Kuey Zhap and also the loklok (satay celup [dip])

Other than just eating, we went sightseeing, here’s the monument near Padang Tembak (Shooting Field) where there’s a memorial for all the war dudes. Penang has it’s history which is also a reknowned island during it’s glory days.

January 30th, 2008• Selecting Host Provider
1 CommentOne good thing about blogging, you get to have your very own domain. Yes, blogger gives you the function to point your domain name to your blogspot address. So means any incoming traffic to your blogspot, will directly point to your selected domain name. But then the problem is, what if I wanted something else other than that and something which I have full control on, such as the database and stuffs.
Yes, getting a host for your blog is what I am talking about. We all know that getting your own host, is somehow a bit expensive for students but if you think of it in a long run, it helps provide easy access. Well, those that have other plans in the hosting, can also think of instead using mySQL all the time, why not try msSQL instead. Well, talking about different hosting, there are basically two different types, one hosted on a linux operating system and the other is on Windows environment. I must say if you wanted to get cheap host then go for the linux option.
Of course it would have been better if one can choose the criteria for a host. I guessed it’s up to the person to find their web hosting choice, and personally criterias are there for a reason. Well, some pointers you can take from me is when you’re looking for a hosting provider, always check out the bandwidth limit, disk space size and also the uptime. Imagine hosting on a server which goes down most of the time. *sweats*.
If you truly need more answers to more hosting problems, one place I can recommend you is webhostingchoice.com. I know, cause I ain’t an expert yet.

January 26th, 2008• Oscar De La Hoya and Me
2 CommentsOn My left we have Oscar De La Hoya!!! I remember this name very well. I used to see it on Astro channel on the sports channel, well, those days and it was like years ago. Well blame it on my national tv for not showing boxing matches.
Anyway after just recently when La Hoya lost his last match with Mayweather Jr., I heard there was a rematch and so it seems. Is like watching a scene from Rocky 5 where the boxer comes back to fight once again. Funny though, I didn’t expect the rematch to be that fast, well, based on ESPN site, it was mentioned it would be on in September 2008. Now that’s faster than expected. For those that don’t really know what happened, Mayweather won the match between them on a close split decision points. Though I would have opt for a Knock Out for a winner instead.

The Attacking Oscar De La Hoya
Based on reports, La Hoya was supposed to have a bout in May only to be canceled due to no opponents for that month. Looks like people can now wait another 9 months for the next previously most expensive and most watched boxing match. I think the tickets gonna be sold out again. So if it’s convenient, you should go get the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Oscar De La Hoya tickets while I have to stuck myself at home watching them on paid per view on HBO. Dang….
Girls, now look at Oscar De La Hoya in uniform. Latinos all have that kinda resemblance, just think of Ricky Martin. Don’t they all just look alike! O.o

I guessed any sort of contest would be fun for me. I wonder how will I look if I were in a boxing glove. Hmmm.. testing ok… so don’t kill me for what I did!

Dang!!!! I just have to have a go at it!!

Happy Thaipusam to those celebrating it!!
It’s now the mid of January 2008! Look see look see, the time pass by so fast. Now looking back from year 2007, we’re now in 2008, life passes by so fast, we just think how it all passes. Like we’re living in a fast forward world.Come to think of it, life to me has been pretty awkward, going up and down. When there are times that I have been down, I have friends who sends sms greetings to cheer me up, which I greatly appreciate. Well, guess that’s what friends are for eh…. So now this is another motivational article by Daniel!

We all kinda know that in life, we need something, someone to hold back, like to support us. Although some people can survived on self motivation, it just doesn’t seem to be complete. Take sports, people strive for glory with the motivation coming from within, but in every sports there are fans cheering them onward. That gives the motivation factor a boost.
Another scenario, if you’re working then you spend lots of time to finish a pending task and after you’ve done it, you’re satisfied with it. Yes, self satisfaction is fun, but let’s say your boss comes in and gives you a pat in the back or an encouragement word saying, “you’ve done a great job, nice work!“. Now tell me you wouldn’t take it as a motivational factor. Like said, live is not motionless, something else can drive us further to pursue onward. Now if my boss said that to me, I think I will carry on working with a better perspective on the job. As a matter of fact, humans are easily pleased when it comes to this.
But of course, if you really think no one’s supporting you, you can also take my other option which is talking to Elmo. I am sure Elmo will be happy to listen to what you have to say! So don’t be sad to say nothing motivates someone to live on their life.

Or if you just don’t want to see all this, just reward yourself with a rest in an island, maybe Redang Island.
