The election has ended, but life goes on. Now I have to think about what to do with my income. Sometimes I think, getting a mortgage refinance for my house is sometimes way way hard. Yeah, I have a house to pay, every month, which is kind of taxing for awhile until I finally got used to it. So part of my salary goes into there.

At least these bank I am having now are so kind to offer Fixed Rate Mortgages which can help me sort out my payment plan issues. I don’t really need to be afraid of influx of rates suddenly and with that, this helps me plan my future, my savings and my investments in case I have extra and who knows, I might even be able to invest in other stuffs.

Nowadays people think that mortgage is just a gimmick, but it’s a good way to purchase a house or a land. Well, in short, in many countries it is normal for home purchases to be funded by a mortgage. (as described by wikipedia) So to mortgage or not to mortgage your home?

After like a few months, all of a sudden, I checked my Google PageRank and guessed what, my PR was 0. What the heck?? It happened right after Valentines, and I was like, “Thank YOU Google for doing something weird and not even logical at all”.

In the case of a big Internet ‘God’, you can do all you want, but reading some of the other entries on other blogs, google might do that to stop competition as maybe one day they feared that they will be taken of the road. If google continues this way, everyone will start to treat Google Page Rank as something unimportant and I am sure people will start to rely on Alexa Ranking and also RealRank.

I am also immortalised at certain sites which have no contents but lotsa google adsense ads running but have PR3. Now this is crappy, I wonder how good a content should be to qualify for a  PR3 rank. I guessed their algorithm still has a long way to go. If this goes on, I am so gonna pro-Yahoo back again as the preferred search engine.

For now, I can just hope it was a glitch at my site, as when I check my pagerank to some of the datacentres, I also got PR7, which is really really weird. So Google, could you look into this matter, if you wanted to give me PR7, dun frighten me. Thanks a lot.

Remember my few posts way back in October 2007 regarding Google’s rank, then some other ranking system came up later. Well, it’s called IZEARanks from IZEARanks.com. Instead of just relying on one type of ranking, now with IZEARanks, a blog can now be ranked according to actual traffic and influence. Thus, it’s of course a relief for me. Though I should also try getting my other blogs to hit high on the ranking too.

Okay, another reason why I would join this IZEARanks was that they are offering $1000 each week in February to the #1 RealRank blog during that month. Now my RealRank is now at 124. Previous month it was 400++, shoots up really fast right! But I guessed I would have to forgo the first week, as my ranking’s too far away.

I am impressed with the current main page which shows my site in it. I guessed it really shows my site progress. The good thing with the above is that with this graph as a benchmark, I can foresee who are my closest rival and how and what should I do to help improve my site. Well, I have already signed up and please pray that there will be a miracle and I get to be the #1 spot.

Horror, on the first of January, what a way to start the new year! What I meant was I got this on my blog.

ERROR 404 : Page does not exist!!!!
Why Why???

Reason : My itchy hand go and play with the CPanel settings of my domain and twiddle with the Hotlinking part of it.
Outcome : Whole blog is in a mess. The main page displays but the other pages has a 404 error. Which means Page Not Found!!

So how did I solve it?

I went and backup my whole wordpress and database and the themes + plugin and reinstall a new fresh wordpress! Oh yeah, it took time what more with the DSL connection going down for 30 minutes. I was like spending my time reinstating back all the posts in Weird Weird Denial. I was lucky though it all went well, but I took up 2 hours to do that

Now after saying all this, I think it’s wise to backup all your stuffs just in case something happens to the server or to one’s configuration. I now do a fortnight backup on my database, which is a good practice. Well, using cronjob is the perfect way to do a backup!

Lesson : It’s always wise to have a backup plan, in case something else happens out of the ordinary!!!

Yes Christmas is just around the corner… ehh.. I meant it’s already Christmas. Yes, so what did most of you did on Christmas Eve??

To simply summarize it, went out on Christmas Eve with a bunch of friends hanging out and talking about our daily life and stuffs. Well, rather than partying, we are the chosen quiet lot who prefer the classic style of chilling it out with topics. No booze though, as some can’t drink. LOL
