It’s the year 2011. Looks like Liverpool are finally getting me all hype up once again. They have finally won 3 matches in a row after a string of bad results and this is a good year for Kenny Dalgish and team. Seemingly the debut of Luis Suarez in the team has proven superb even without any training on his first debut.
After the departure of Fernando Torres, few people were asking how will Liverpool cope without their Star Striker? Everyone was expecting Luis Suarez to make his debut start, only for him to be put onto the bench. King Kenny (Kenny Dalgish) even tried a formation that is relatively unknown to most of us. Kyrgiakos was given a start to the line up and we all wondered what tactical changes were Kenny doing?
Then it dawned upon me, we are facing Stoke City, the one with big man John Carew who is on loan to Stoke from Aston Villa. The Greek, Sotiris Kyrgiakos (Soto for short) was given the task to subdue the big man and to win the aerial battle. For me, he definitely did his job well.
The match was one of a kind, something which is of amazing football passing that have long been gone from the Liverpool that I knew. Finally this is a team that loves to attack and plays a different kind of football aside all the long ball and score techniques. The first 45 minutes was all about possession and Liverpool did have many chances to put themselves ahead only for the missing luck to find it at the back of the net. Amazing though, Jose Pepe Reina didn’t even have to make a save in the first 45 minutes.
The crowd was excellent and the cheers started pouring in as Luis Suarez started running and warming up at the sidelines. The start of the 2nd half began and just as most of the crowd were trying to get some breather, our new favorite Meireles scored in what an amazing volley. From a Kyrgiakos flick and avoidance, Raul Meireles scored the first goal for Liverpool and the crowd was roaring. Amazingly we had the 2nd goal from none other than one of the Kop’s new signing, Luis Suarez.

The goal was an excellent debut for a player on his first debut. I bet this time, Liverpool fans and players were all smiles as we watched the team go from zero to hero. So we have to believe that we will be able to win at Stamford Bridge this Saturday. All smiles from all of us and from the bench.
Andy Carroll couldn’t help smiling with the way Liverpool are playing and after Luis Suarez’s debut goal. He could have been thinking, “Now this is a team which plays the football that I would love to play.”
Sad news though, Andy Carroll would not be fit in time for the Chelsea match but what would we see in the next match? Luis Suarez to start and a different formation from Liverpool? This Sunday will be a blast. You’ll Never Walk Alone. #YNWA
ps: This is my 2nd article for my favorite club Liverpool and I am hoping that I could look forward to a trip to Anfield Stadium. Am gonna get my Liverpool jersey soon.
