Necrotic Ooze has a friend, Griselbrand

Yo MTG fellas, it feels good to tell you after the spoiling of partial cards of Avacyn Restored, a new card will be a part of my deck. That is none other than Griselbrand the new Demon Legend which was trapped in the Helvault (refer to Innistrad storyline for that)

So what do you think? Over powered? How about using this guy as your Mono Black General in Commander (EDH). Necrotic Ooze has never felt better with this guy in the graveyard. 7 cards for 7 life is well worth it.

    Not all that great. The main advantage of Griselbrand is that you can pay the 7 life and then get it back by attacking or blocking with him. You use the Necrotic Ooze the same way and half the power; the lifegain. It seems like a powerful combo, but because Lifelink isn’t activated the Ooze won’t get it, and you’re just killing yourself, and fast. You would need other stuff to gain life.s Angel’s Mercy works, but if you’re playing EDH you wouldn’t be able to run Brandy as your General, defeating the purpose. The best think I could think to use is a Vampire Nighthawk, and even then only use the “Pay 7 life” ability every 2 turns.

    On the face of it, a good play, but you’re basically just killing yourself.
