Tale of The Mynah

Posted by danielctw On July - 27 - 2009

2 months back, Daniel had a journey to the north, toward the island of Langkawi, there are many adventures out there. Many things to talk about but then that would be another story.

Instead this will be a story of a Mynah. What is a Mynah? A Mynah is a bird, a species that can fly. Well, here is this fella’s tale of adventure when Daniel set foot on his own turf at the beach. Mynah saw Daniel there and became annoyed!

Angry Annoyed Mynah

Mynah seems pretty annoyed as Daniel closes in to take it’s photo. Daniel then proceeded to back away a little, thinking that in that distance it was at a safe distance to shoot Mynah at work only to be…..

Warghhhh~~~ serious case, it’s opening it’s beak to warn me. Time to go off.

Mynah Cursing

Daniel thought to himself, “What an ANGRY bird!

Lesson to be learnt : Never ever make a bird angry, it come straight at you barking!

Notes from the author : Story was made up, no one’s bird was harmed in the process

Flying on Siemens Run 2009

Posted by danielctw On July - 22 - 2009

To tell about my experience on the Siemens Run 2009, here’s the recap of what happened. Unlike the one that I took part in KL Marathon, this one is 10km and arguably one of the most organized running events that I’ve experienced. Here are some thoughts on my run during that day.

They have a very good spokesperson to address to the crowd, and when the time says that it’s 7:30am to run, they fired the shot at the desired time, without any delays. Though prior to this run, I didn’t get to train. After the SC KL Marathon, my right leg has a pain near the hips and this let’s me think twice of participating in this Siemens Run. Though, I am glad I registered early for the run, after learning that the first 2000 registrants would receive a running vest. Yes… the running vest was cool.

Getting Ready For The Siemen Run 7am

Was practically getting ready for the race, with my yellow shoes and the nice runing vest. The time was 7 am. Then the signal came about 7:15am and we were ordered to go to the starting line.

Starting Line Siemen Run 2009

There were loads of people, and yes, I was beginning to think what if I can’t beat my previous 10km record. I practically bought a cheapo watch to keep check of my time. The run started at 7:30am, and unwittingly told myself that I would be able to achieve a time under 1 hour, only to my horror, the first 5km, the track was uphill and slope around the road towards Lake Garden.

I began to feel numbness on my leg during the first 3km. I couldn’t take it anymore and I started walking (All due to no practice). Guessed I overestimated myself. Not wanting to lose to my old old self, I kept telling myself that I can win this thing, and just when the finishing line seems near, I see that there’s a big loop that I have to go in order to cross the finish line. Finally did the finishing line within 1’06’27′ and not a bad time. Though really regretted that I couldn’t finished it way earlier than 1 hour.

Notice the photos, it was at the 400 to 500m mark until the finish line. This was when I started doing light sprinting runs, the guy with the mustache must be wondering how did I run like that all of a sudden.

Well, last but not least, I wasn’t in the top 100 (they have a time of 49 minutes for the 100th place), so I didn’t get any medal but I did have a finisher certificate and a goodie bag from Nivea. Till my next race at Adidas King of The Road 21km on August 2nd 2009.

IT IS FINISHED!

ps : Don’t really have the mood to write, but I felt obligated.

A Week Hiatus

Posted by danielctw On July - 20 - 2009

It’s been a week since I’ve updated anything here in Weird Weird Denial. It might have been longer, but in order to not keep readers and visitors guessing, I am still very much alive, only that I need to settle certain issues. First and foremost, two upcoming exams which might determine my future in language and also language (IT).

Bear with it for awhile, Daniel is trying to fix this part of his life and to complete this once and for all.

In case you’re wondering, yes, it’s the Japanese Exam and the SCJP (Sun Certified Java Programmer 5.0) exam. So wish me luck. I know I need loads.

Playing With a FullHouse?

Posted by danielctw On July - 14 - 2009

It was a hot sunny afternoon towards evening. DanielCtw was hungry, someone else was hungry too. But more importantly we were hungry and feeling hot from the hot sunny weather. Then we found a sanctuary, a place where we sort of can sit down and relax from the hot weather, but unexpectedly it was still hot. Guessed what did dear Yen did? :P

Hot Hot Chia Yen

So which is hotter? That’s for me to know :P

But strange, what do people do in this place? There must be food served here I guessed. So we both waited for our food to arrive, or rather so called appetizer. Is not like we were super hungry, and along came the measly meal.

Food Is Served

Err… not as appetizing from the photos, but nevertheless still wallop the whole food thingy. But just as I was going to finish, dear dear went missing. Where is she? What happened?

Behind The Bed

I was looking up and down, around the place, looking for the place where she would hide? But little did I know, the answer lies just behind me. The whole place was fully white, my eyes went whitish from seeing everything white, until I saw a different color in the midst of all the whiteness.

White Dear Yen on Bed

Dear Dear was all the while sitting by the bed like a princess, while I was looking beyond it. It was like a fairy tale. Finding her was done but she still hadn’t finish with all the fun yet. Until she does this….

Last Memories of Mount Kinabalu

Posted by danielctw On July - 7 - 2009

It was a pity, it all had to end so fast. Well, finally after what seemed to be more of a trilogy of events in Kota Kinabalu, the part has to end with us leaving the mountain. Yes, on the way down I took a feel of doing panaromic shots of a mountain from the view of Villosa Hut. What view to be seen though?

Of course if you didn’t catch my previous post regarding this trip, here they are.

Part 1 – Flight To Kota Kinabalu Sabah
Part 2 – Pulau Manukan Exploration
Part 3 – Kota Kinabalu Exploration Day
Part 4 – Kundasang War Memorial and Poring Hot Springs
Part 5 – Expected Climb Up Mt Kinabalu

By the way it was stitched together with Adobe Photoshop CS3.

This post will be more of a personal type. More group photos to commemorate the time the group had together.

Daniel at Villosa Hut

Alright, I lied. It’s more for me to show how did Daniel trekked down the mountain. Noticed anyone else familiar in this photo? I bet some of you would know. By the way, the weather was bad when we trekked up in the middle of the night. Raining and strong wind. But did we made it?
