If you are uncomfortable being the center of attention, try joining an improv class. If you are a writer and aren’t comfortable sharing your work, join a critique group. There are dozens of options to choose from but the important thing is pursuing something that makes you uncomfortable. You’ll likely find that many of your new friends feel the same, and as your new skill becomes familiar, you’ll gain confidence.
Same way when I used to be a thin guy, then as time goes by, the motivational factor was to be some pumped up person. I took a liking to gym and the hard work paid off. Of course, now I would have to start all over again as I have lost a lot of muscle mass.
