You know before I added ShoutOut live chatbox, I was using another live chatbox back then in my blog. The only thing though was that this other chatbox has this IP log and it’s displaying it out at the open. I mean, if it’s private I got no issue about it. Imagine seeing your IP displayed as 60.45.65.xx widely to the public.
My Experience Server Hacked
Example of a Hacked System
I got hacked before on my own server which is the reason why I chose to blog in a secured server. Anyway here are some help to deter hackers from discovering your IP address. One of the ways is by going through a proxy, yes, it seems like double protection. Well, too bad though sometimes I am just lazy to find a proxy for me to connect.
Any Other Solutions
Then I found out another solution. I am sure most of you realized what a wonderful browser Firefox is. For me I use Firefox to debug my blog codes and stuffs with it’s firebug function. Anyway how the heck to hide IP address? Well if you’re following the link at http://www.hide-my-ip-address.com/, instead of just Firefox for the normal daily protection, this browser is a modified version of Firefox. From what I found out instead of using a proxy, this browser will go through two ultra-secure, ultra-fast anonymous servers. So it’s just like a proxy, only that this time I can say it’s a triple protection. Hahaha… though of course security comes at a price.
For now I guessed if you think you needed more security than normal, I would advise to spend a few bucks to get that needed IP security browser. 😛
wow, that bad ? probably i should do the same.
satkuru,
though it’s also one in a million to get hacked by a hacker if it’s not a big site
they hacked you because you were not prepared and didn’t know much about.. and publishing IP is not a big deal. it’s regarded not safe but that shouldn’t be an excuse but it seems they learned your behavior,
proxy is not even safe even, please consider that too. 🙂 Be very wise using remote proxy server 🙂 rest is there >>—————–>> GOOGLE
