So back to Bukit Tabur once again. Yes…and in case you haven’t read about my other Bukit Tabur escapades, search for Bukit Tabur.

It was indeed the same kind of experience but then now it seems more and more people seems to know about this place. Well, that was when me and my group got up, we found another group of people going up and they were all like first timers except one guy. Well, of course, that time.. I was like waiting for the group to finished but seems they are taking their own sweet time or maybe cause some of them are scared of height. Well, that’s Bukit Tabur experience.Oh ya…anyway here are some rules which I would like to point out when climbing on this natural quartz mountain.

1. Do not…I repeat do not litter the place with empty bottles. They don’t decompose. (Makes me mad that I have to pick them up)

2. Please do not pluck any flowers or destroy the habitats on the hills. Especially those people who made campfire at the last hill. You guys are the dumps.

3. Try not to wear too bright a color, I found it out the hard way (bees get attracted to you).

4. Always stay in a group and don’t be a hero to go all the way on your own. If anything happens to you, no one knows. When someones lagging behind, wait for that person.

5. Things to do before going up. Pack a bottle of water (recommended 1.5 liters) and a change of clothes. Also bring some light snack. Carry a backpack and wear proper tracking shoes if you want to climb the rocky cliffs.

6. Have a guide who has been there to show the maneuver of where to step and stand during climbing sessions using the rope. (You can also employ me to be the guide HOHO)

Well that’s so far what I can sum up. Going up the hills everytime brings something new to see. Especially the previous night when it was raining. The ants and insects are more and even mushrooms growing around. I love the ants, they are kinda peculiar unlike those you see on the normal grounds. Bigger butts.. ha ha..

One thing though, my group enjoyed the most was the part when you need to use your hands to climb up the ridge. Less tiring, they said. Well indeed, the best and most untiring part is actually this part of the ridge. They hated the walking up the jungle track more than climbing. Haha.. well glad all of them enjoyed. So have this got any of you interested in climbing the hills?

Not yet, then how about some photo shooting? If you’re interested in taking photos, here’s the perfect place to take some snapshots of KLCC and also Genting Highlands (if you’re lucky that no mist or cloud was covering). We even had one photo enthusiast in our group, taking almost anything. So I then don’t waste my time and had a snapshot of him. Hahaha… I am sure he wouldn’t mind being posted cause we can’t see his face. *whistles and runs before I got pummeled*

The Super louyea shitting pose

So when will be my next trip up? Very soon. All of them can’t wait for another 2nd round.

Sungkai – Part II

Posted by Daniel Chew On March - 23 - 2007

This is a continuation for the first post where I’ve been to TRAP. OK, I don’t wanna repeat what is TRAP is all about so you can read it below

TRAP – Part I

Now let’s continue the adventure. Some people just don’t believe that they can boil eggs in the hot springs. I mean it’s 100 degrees Celsius. So I have to go and get photos from one of my colleague for the egg boiling thingy. Haihz…. sorry LouYea, borrow your photos this time. Hahaha… well he was the only one with camera while we all kept our cameras in the locker when we were in the water.

The hot steaming foot reflexology walk path was also worth a try. Well, we heard of normal reflexology paths but what about hot water filled path. Oh my, the stones poking with hot water. No wonder people say it can kill germs in your body.

There’s this one photo, the guy’s not taking the normal path, painful he says. Ha Ha Ha… Well but then imagined if he just fell on the other side, OMIGOSH fried steamed human. What would have happened? I am afraid to think!

Anyway I’ll let the other photos do the talking. I’m pretty numb myself. Maybe next time one can go for a trip to Sungai Klah. Invite me if you need me to show you the way. Ha ha!

Haha…Well, today kinda busy day but also lazy for me, since today’s Friday. Yes, no work on Saturday and Sunday, but time goes by so fast.

Oh…there will be part 3 but I’m kinda beat up with the workload now. Adios.

Hot Springs Sungai Klah, Sungkai

Posted by Daniel Chew On March - 17 - 2007

It’s been one week and what a holiday I had, though it was only a one day trip. Well, who would have thought that the place I was visiting was called TRAP?

Trap Sungkai Board Walk

TRAP??? What the heck is this place? Well actually is a hot spring located near Sungkai or basically called Hot Springs Park Sungai Klah. Well, so what’s it got to do with Trap? Hmm… in the native language in Malaysia, it’s Taman Rekreasi Air Panas, which is basically Hot Springs Recreational Park. Oh man, they are good in naming these…

welcome to Sungkai Hot Springs

So gone is the TRAP issue, but as Malaysia is a hot and humid country, what the heck am I doing there? Imagine this, me and a group of us reached this specific place around 11am somewhere near afternoon with the sun shining just rightly above. Hot springs in the sun??? Well, that’s what you get for being weird, well this place is Weird Weird Denial right. Enough of crap….
Being in this place sort of let’s one relax from the busy days in the office or studies. It’s more like a leisure. Although on the way to this location, I was witnessing the upgrading of roads and all these are done in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007. Looks like this location is put as one of the hot spots for Visit Malaysia Event.

Sungkai Trap Dipping Pool

Ok, first thing though, the springs here are naturally hot. No underground heater located beneath the earth (ehehe… a few jokes I shared with my colleague, sorry mate!! ). Well to know more about hot springs and it’s wonder, I prefer I don’t talk about it but instead one can google more about the natural happenings of this phenomenon. So the springs here, it’s hot, why would someone wants to dip themselves in hot water? Good question. Let me give you my opinion on this question…to relax, good therapy, relaxation, etc…yadda yadda, bla bla, woof woof, meow meow *slapped by readers* *OUCH*

Board Walk Sungkai Hot Springs

The water is deemed pretty hot, with water boiling up till 100 degrees Celsius. Yup, it’s that hot. Well of course, I am not that stupid to go put myself into the boiling water, except maybe when we were boiling the eggs to eat it there. The places we dipped are around 40 – 50 degrees Celsius. Some of the places noted there are the Dipping Pool (Kolam Beremdam), Board Walk (a 15 minutes walk of wooden bridge across the hot springs source), Family Spa (private dip of natural water with added jacuzzi feel) and the natural mountain water pool(well of course some people wanted to cool themselves in cool waters, myself included).

Hot Springs Source

So many things to show, but so little photos to show. I just missed some amazing shots. Though I will continue with my trip to Ipoh after my Hot Springs trip. Well, it was worth the while after having some cool hot ‘dipping’, hunger strikes. What a better way than to go to our food location right at the town of Ipoh. Well, but that’s another post. Hehehehe.. adios, waiting is so much pleasure don’t you think so.

*Runs before someone pokes me*

Note: Edited on 18th April 2010 on the photos. The photos are now larger for the viewing pleasure of the readers.

Bukit Tabur Collection Part 2

Posted by Daniel Chew On January - 9 - 2007

Here I go again…

After compiling some of my photos, and with the hope of going up to Bukit Tabur again, I present to you the few photos. Well, some are macro shots which are ok.

You’ll get to see these kind of scenes up there.

The blue sky scenery. Well you can actually see Genting Highlands from up here. Just that day was a little bit cloudy and full of mist and haze around makes the some scenery photos blur.

Now how about it. The sun was rising from behind that mountain. So I can only take a cloud scenery with the hill in black. Well, there’s a trick to it if you want to take the hill instead but the sky would be not nice at all.

Capturing this was kinda time wasting. Well, first I’ve got to wait for the perfect time for this shot. With the wind blowing to and fro, it was a well worth wait but I wished I had a better camera. Maybe a DSLR. But no $$$ T_T

Some moss like mats lying on the rocky floor. I mean you can practically lie down on them and it feels like a house mat. Oh my…tis is the life. Sleeping time on the floorbed or rather a mossbed. HAHAHA

Final shot to share today. Well it was worth the try. Focusing in the middle makes the other parts blur. Well, you can’t really get all clear, if not it wouldn’t be very nice. I’ve got to squat just to take this shot. Those creepers on the tree trunks.

Anyway hope you enjoy the shots I took. At least it would entice some of you who wants to climb up Bukit Tabur. Well if you really want to climb up, do contact me here. Well, I’ll post my mail on the blog next time though. Or just drop by and give a comment. Till then. Buenos Sera. Adios.

Bukit Tabur Before New Year

Posted by Daniel Chew On January - 2 - 2007

danielctw is back and with more updates
—————————————————————————————————
Oh…looks like new year has just past and what a way to spend the new year. At home watching Astro on the Animax channel. Hahaha!! Well, prior to the new year on the 30th Dec 2006, I had my share of fun climbing up the hill nearby. I mean it’s a hill made out of quartz and basically it’s a challenging climb for my other friends that went up with me. Well, how can I say it’s challenging if you yourself didn’t experience it yourself. Well, it’s no ordinary climb like how where people usually going up the hill is like a jungle track where all one does is just walking up all the way.

Well enough of the talks and texts. Maybe it’s time to show what’s it all about with pics.

Yes we do go down the hill with ropes

Imagine, we’re like on the same level with KL Tower. O.o Shocked eh?? Here’s another shot on the top of the hill.

Look at the Klang Gates reservoir from the top

Yes this place is a ridge around Taman Melawati near the Klang Gates reservoir. You get to see the whole lake there. I mean “Now that’s high enough!”.

Look at the other peak

See the other mountain top there. That’s where we came from before reaching the next peak. All in all, there are 7 peaks to conquer. It was a nice 4 hour climb, well it could be faster if we weren’t busy taking photos for all of you =P

My friends were exhausted after the climb, but it was worth it. Let’s go up again.
