Expected Climb Up Mt Kinabalu

Posted by danielctw On June - 26 - 2009

That day has arrived, everyone gearing up to go up the mountain. I wished I was in bed though and the journey started later, but No~~~

Double Decker Bed

Guess where did I sleep? The upper bunk or the lower bunk?

But then how can I start a journey so troublesome without an energy drink? Hmmm.. think Tongkat Ali? Red Bull? Nahhhh, it’s Ginger Tea ‘O’. Those who are mamak kakis would know it’s Tea with sugar with ginger essence. But little did I know it’s a bit different here.

Ginger Tea O

OMGoodness, it’s a ginger in the tea. Amazing. I’ve never tasted something so original such as this, I must say, do try it if you are there though. Well, other than the plain old Coffee and Tea, take something like this. Helps to clear the ‘wind’ in your stomach.

So then we finally reached to the base of the track. Rather we’re taking the Mesilau trail up, which is another extra 2km walk. There are a total of 10 of us. Well, some of us are bloggers while some are my ex-colleagues.

A big group photo and also another SS (‘syiok sendiri‘) small group photo consist of 2 big 2 small.

Pulau Manukan Exploration

Posted by danielctw On May - 17 - 2009

It’s me Daniel back again and this time hoping to relive back the old activeness in me updating blogs and going about talking about my recent adventures. It really deserve a big big topic and post on it’s own, about my Manukan Island experience. Continuing from my previous post, Manukan Island is filled with lots and lots of homo sapiens and because of that there are bound to be so many things to shoot at.

Here are the past episodes of my escapade to Sabah and KK.
Part 1 – Flight To Kota Kinabalu Sabah

Group Pose
The 4 people of The Early Days of Sabah

So what do people with cameras and not snorkeling and playing in the sea do? They shoot photos. Before I continue though, what are some activities one can do on Manukan Island. They can snorkel, they can just lay down at the beach and tan themselves. Rather they can also enjoy walking under the sea. What’s that? Now presenting to you Scuba Doo!

Scuba Doo Mini Submarine

Yes, you can now go move underwater and swim with the fishes and wouldn’t be out of breath. Alright commercial break over. Those days when everyone’s on the beach, they do the above things, but with technology and everyone having a camera in hand, people now have the liberty to bring their cameras all around and everywhere. Just like these people.

Zoom Lens On The Beach

OMG… ZOOM LENS ~~~ What To Shoot??

Activity Filled Week

Posted by danielctw On May - 12 - 2009

Hello guys and gals! It’s been a week and yes DanielCtw was away for the week. Today is Tuesday and to tell you about all the activities I have gone through the past week would be exhilarating and would take a few posts to finish. Well, what I can say is that I enjoyed my week and also these past few days. What has happened though, that would be good to look at with a few photos.

Giant Rock

I am sure some of you can recognize these few photos and the origins of these photos of where they were taken at. Well, some are mighty obvious, and some are just plain HARD to find but it’s the life of a traveler to know where these places are.

Ferris Wheel

I always figured, photos on my blog are meant to be shared and yes, they are shared for viewing. Now of course, I would eventually start a site for my portfolio and it’s going to finish very soon. But since I would like to share with you as to why only now that I decided to start something like that, it’s all due to a mixture of events and a certain gadget.

Nikon Photo

But how can this events take me over a week? Where did I go? I am sure those who have been following my past posts would understand that it doesn’t take people to know that I have been traveling here and there. I miss this part of life, going here and there and being able to start blogging like I used to frequently.

Though I must also THANK my fellow guest bloggers who has been helping me blog during the days I was missing from the blogosphere. Well, some still remain anonymous but it’s good to mentioned them in one of my blog post in the coming future.

Sword Fish Land

I didn’t travel to another country though, which the last time I did that was 2 years ago. I wished I could though. But traveling within Malaysia also has it’s beauty and wonder. I mean, why resort to travel overseas when we haven’t even explore the wonders of Malaysia and it’s large flora and fauna and busy city life. Imagine the swordfish above, who knows where that place is?

Rocks Of KK

This rock is a giveaway and yes, it’s a magnificent sight. Would probably go there again in the coming future. It’s a dramatic experience and a sight to behold. If you need help though, you can always call me and I could arrange a package to traveling destinations around Malaysia. Well, of course when I said that, it’s not everywhere but to those islands and East Malaysia.

So seeing this preview will sort of tell you what I have been doing? But it’s that it? Well, in between these events there are many other events which would be worth mentioning. But giving too much of information would be giving away my secret. So stay tune and guessed where I’ll be going next in the coming posts too.

Port Dickson BBQ Trip

Posted by danielctw On October - 20 - 2008

It was 11th October 2008, the day when a few weeks ago, someone planned to have a BBQ gathering at Port Dickson and that person was none other than Joey, founder of Kokorobox.net. But then Daniel and his 2 other friends, David and Carrie had other ideas. Maybe just go there and bump into them and rather just relax at the beach and take photos. Well, to avoid the working atmosphere once in awhile.

Well, surprisingly, it was a very short notice for the 3 people and I really must thank Carrie for her willingness to drive. Did I forgot to mentioned, the 3 of us were previously schoolmates.

Blue Sea, Blue Sky

Look at the clear blue sea and the blue sky.. ya… it’s just color balance settings I played on my camera. Port Dickson is not that blue and judging from the photos, this is actually how it really looks like.

Sunset At Port Dickson Silhouette

As this beach is located on the West coast, it’s definitely you can only catch the sun setting at the horizon instead of rising. Yes, the crooked horizon. I am too lazy to modify my photos right now. Well, this is only one of those, I have lots of other Silhouette photos at Port Dickson.

The Port Dickson was rather a relaxation to find space and time for oneself. Okay, enough of the scenery then, who are the 3 of us?

Night in Port Dickson

Posted by danielctw On July - 30 - 2008

It was a night to remember. Well, a night without hotels, a night where 4 different people from different background got together to have a fun trip out of the blue. Well, the 4 different people though it was fun to be in Port Dickson singing songs at night reliving the beach mood. Well, you better believe it.

Singing Songs During The Night

The beach we were is at Port Dickson Bayu Beach Resort. Softest sand you can find over there. I still remembered it was over a year since there was a trip to Port Dickson. Well, if you have the props, why not enjoy it. You’d think that the guitar is only used for playing music. Well, you can start imagining other things now.

Kung Fu Guitar

Of course there are other photos but who knows AaronWoolala might put it up instead. The Kung Fu Guitar Technique was lost for a few years and looks like it was handed down to two Kung Fu practitioners. You never knew a guitar was that useful ehh…

So who are these 4 people? Well, instead of talking more and going on and on… here they are.

What’s the point of going to Port Dickson at night if it weren’t for Barbeque or maybe enjoying the waves and breeze. Actually the wonders of going to Port Dickson at night are the night life you get to see where during the day it’s never too easy to notice. Oh yeah… yes, the breeze at night was as though like a hurricane is coming along. I was amazed at how strong the winds were.

Walking Crab

Crab… What crab is this? Flower Crab hor? This crab was as big as my fist, okay.. maybe it’s smaller a little bit, but then it’s rare to see a crab upclose unless one checks the fishing nets and all that. Well, you need to go to 11th Mile to get a look at those critters. Also lalas (clams) can be found at Blue Lagoon beach. Didn’t know that right :P

3 salt water fishes

The tiny salt water fishes are also around and near the shore during the night. There are other species of bigger crabs during that night, but I wasn’t fast enough to capture it. Imagine people just going to the beach relaxing without knowing they can see lots of things during the night.

Who ask me to be adventurous? I think it’s a part of me. Dang… oh yeah, sorry though, it’s been a while too since I last blogged :D
