Weirdness at Port Dickson

Posted by danielctw On October - 22 - 2008

You think you’ve seen it all, well, I wanted to make this post instead a wacky post instead. Well, this is of course a personal photo blog, well, and a mixture of travel and places blog. Instead I was thinking of moving real proper event photos on another blog. Hmm.. okay let’s get back to Port Dickson weirdness, with me in the group, there is bound to be some weirdness in character.

Beyond The Sunset

It was a pity I only spent 2 days, we only had one day for a sunset shot and the next afternoon we had to leave. Well, make use of the time and let’s have my 2 volunteer models pose for me. What’s beyond the sunset? A guy with the jetski? If only there weren’t any other obstacle in the photo, this picture would be perfect :(

Remember a few months ago, when I had my one night drive to Port Dickson. This time, we’re back at the same beach at Bayu Beach to take some night scene photos. Well, I must agree I hardly smile. I still need more practice.

View at Look Out Point Ampang

Posted by danielctw On October - 8 - 2008

Seriously, previously, when I was at LookOut Point somewhere around the borders of Cheras and Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, I remembered. I remembered that time I only have my Nikon D40 camera and my kitlens. Looks like after a few months or rather a year after that, lots of things have changed and now he has upgraded his kit.

By the way, it was a breathtaking view looking from above the skies when you wanted to be free from all the work loads and just want to forget them. This is where the gathering goes on, and continue from the previous post. Yes, after the Karaoke, it was time for some breathtaking night scenery – nearly spoilt due to the rain. Yes, the view of Kuala Lumpur scenery.

Early Night Kuala Lumpur View

Well, we were there about 7pm and you can see the dark clouds were forming up above. Well, at least the sun didn’t fully set yet so we got the reddish background at the back. More like molten lava coming at a distance. But then this shot was shot way too low.

Of course, the rain came and I think it was good that the rain actually did pour. This made us get into the car and went straight up to Look Out Point and have a few drinks there and wait till the rain settle. It’s because of the rain, the sky is also clearer.

Night Time KL View From LookOut Point

Now looky here, the city at it’s dark night with the lights from Petronas Twin Tower KLCC and in the distance is the KL Tower. Now if you’ve been following my thread, you will know that I used to shoot with my kitlens. So I’ll be different a little bit this time. Zoom and have a look at KLCC from a distance.

Voila~~~~

KLCC Twin Towers

Yes, this is Petronas Twin Towers KLCC from a distance. Yes, photo muchly helped by the tripod. The ground was wood though, so sometimes ground tremors from kids running about will have effect on photos, which made me cut short my photo taking session.

Still hungry for more photos, maybe portraiture photos next as I embarked on my quest to have my first model shoot portraiture. Let’s hope it all goes well eh… :)

Till then and good day to all of you too.

Size Does Matter

Posted by danielctw On October - 2 - 2008

How can we believe size doesn’t matter? Well, sometimes it does matters? Well, when only will it matter, that also have to see in what context we’re talking about.

If you’re talking about the brain, size really doesn’t matter. You might have a big brain, but to the extent of how much memory one keeps, now that’s a different matter altogether. Though if you’re talking about physical size, it really can matter. Just imagine, Yao Ming, the China basketball player, Houston Rocket player as of print, standing side by side with you.

WTF Yao Ming

Okay, maybe not standing side by side, but imagine… he’s big in size, imagine he’s 2.26m while I am only like 1.7x++ meter. This makes me feels short. Well, I guess that’s the way it is then.

I think I was stupid enough to think I could excel well in basketball to represent the country, the state and all when I was young. I should have just stick to badminton or other sports. For basketball, size does matters. People don’t care whether you can shoot or not, as long you cannot be part of the defense, how are you gonna assimilate.

Hmm.. kinda weird, ranting about basketball. I believe instead of complaining about the height, I should complain about the width. Size does matters in that case too. Now let’s say how shall I compare…

Caterpillar with Ant

Caterpillar attack~~~~~ arghhh, I wished I was bigger. Don’t you wish you were bigger?

ps : If you’re thinking of bigger in other context, it may also apply.

Photoshoot in Cameron Highlands

Posted by danielctw On August - 17 - 2008

Good day to you people, while you are all watching the latest Olympics and for those that are from Malaysia, remember that tonight is Lee Chong Wei‘s badminton match brought to you life from Beijing on Astro. Well, I think the local TV is going to air it live too.

Seems like many people are ranking for the keyword Beijing Olympics 2008 but looks like I won’t be talking more of the Olympics instead. Well, maybe I will do that at a later time after the badminton match.

If you’ve noticed, I have been gone for awhile the previous few weekends to pursue my side career as a photographer. Well, a wedding photography session to be exact.

Cameron Bird

Aside the birds, me and my co photographer went to Cameron Highlands to take shots for the album. Of course though, without prior consent from the couple, there won’t be any photographs of them here. Some sneak peaks will be released in the coming future. So instead there will be pictures of the photographer themselves. LOL

Flower Like Cherries

Being in Cameron Highlands is like escaping the busy urban city, and the air here is fresh and not as hazy as the air in Kuala Lumpur. So snap snap snap all the way, those that deem fit to be taken. Of course if one is to go to Cameron Highlands, I am sure some would have heard of Boh Tea plantation. Now that’s where we’re headed. Unfortunately for us though, we went on a Monday and found out it was close. But after a chance encounter with the Manager there, we have permission to drive in and proceed to take photos.

Boh Tea Plantation

The cloud was not showing a good sign but I must say the weather was fair to us towards the end. Those days I always thought the tea leaves were hand-picked by the tea pickers only to see that there was another faster efficient way to pick up leaves to be dried for making tea and others.

Tea Leaf Picker

How should I say it? The world of priceless tools to pick tea leaves.

Oversee the Tea Plantation

And yes, the plantation was hugh covering a few mountains and who were the two photographers. There you have it on the top. Not clear, well there will be one more shot coming right up. Though I must say I should give credit to this place for an astounding tea brand.

danielctw with Jac at Boh Tea Sungei Palas Plantation

BOH Tea Center Sungei Palas and finally we just had to pose for this. How to get there? Of course if you are lazy to browse through the menus, here is a site with information on the Tea Centre based on www.boh.com.my.

I guessed it’s fun to take photos. But now with my new work, I have very little time to travel and see around. I smell tea at my home now, mum must be making tea. Okay, got to ciao and have a happy weekend and enjoy the Beijing Olympics 2008 this year.

ps: Liverpool won the game against Sunderland yesterday… Hooray!!!!

Take Shots Without Realising

Posted by danielctw On August - 11 - 2008

When one is preoccupied, when one is in full concentration, you’ll never know what lies beneath them or underneath them.

This is the case of the full concentration being put into full use until unsure of what other things are happening around them.

Be wary of your surroundings..
