SO HOT also WALK????

Posted by danielctw On June - 8 - 2011

In this time and space, before then, there was bicycle, then the car / automobile came about which gave convenience to many people. It was easy to travel from a location to another location unlike when those days, people used to walk from one place to another. Guess what?

Daniel chose to WALK instead of to drive.

Yes… I walked from one end to another end which takes about 30 minutes from one place to another place. Walking back and forth will require at least 50 to 70 minutes depending on how fast one walks. No it is not for some walkathon training or keep fit schedule. It is all due to because of a valid reason which I will tell you towards the end.

But why walk in the hot sun?

For a reason known to me, walking is good for health. It was lunch time and I have decided to walk from Asia Jaya LRT station towards Diver’s Den at Jalan Universiti (Unitversity Road). That is like 2.1km which, according to Google Map would take about 30 minutes from one end to another.

30 minutes Walking Distance Diver's Den

Diver’s Den? Why do I go there?

Reason is simple. I want to go enquire about the dive package and the free and easy package directly from the center instead of making a call.

Then, Why Not Drive?

Good question. This is the part where people will start judging oneself. If I tell you that I used to walk from KLCC towards Lot 10. Then from there I walked towards Central Market (Pasar Seni), what would your responses be? CRAZY!!!! How can one walk so far? Bus charges only 80 cents and why did I not take the bus? It is simply because I prefer walking and wanted to save. I did not have a car back then.

Though this time I have a car parked here in Asia Jaya LRT and I still walk towards my destination. Why did I do that? It is not that I wanted to save on fuel or tire wear. I wanted to save on my free parking space.

If I were to drive out, when I come back, my free parking space would be taken over by some other kiamsiap guy/girl. So I walk as long I think that it is not far and I have the time for it. WAHAHAHAHAHA!!

How crazy can one get?

Mobile Blogging On The Go

Posted by danielctw On March - 15 - 2011

Mobile blogging for me these days doesn’t necessarily meant having to plan to go to many places and just blog and blog.

Sometimes and now a times, I find that with a mobile smart phone, the urge to blog using the desktop or laptop has surprisingly dwindle. Shucks….

No matter. Of course I can’t wait for April to arrive.

My Package From USA

Posted by danielctw On November - 10 - 2010

Coming home today, I noticed I finally got my package. Yes, they finally came from the United States of America (USA). Well, nothing to brag about if you’re an Ebay customer and user. Well, been buying stuffs online and trust me, most of them use postal services that don’t use stamp at all. Finally came one with a stamp.

Package from USA

Yes, there are 2 envelopes and the one in front is the one with a stamp from the States. Why am I so jolly happy? Was it the contents? Well, as can be seen from the stamping date, this mail was sent on the October 27th 2010 and it was received on the November 9th 2010. Nearly 2 weeks.

The reason I am so happy is actually because I can now add on a one more stamp into my stamp album. Seemingly, I used to collect stamps when they were the hype and when email wasn’t around. Yes, seriously I was that old, I only got to know about email when I was 15 years old and only started using them when I was 18 years old. Those days getting a computer was expensive and I only had a 20++kbps connection modem with me.

Stamp Collections

Imagine how precious they were, I have like a few stamp albums around and that is not counting those stamps that weren’t put into the album at all yet. If you happen to love stamps too and happen to know me, why not we have a short get together and talk about this old old hobby and also have a look at each others collection.

Sidetrack
I am sure you’re eager to know what’s in the envelope. Well, there you have it.

MTG Survival of the Fittest & Black Knight Revised

An old school game which is still a hype amongst certain group of people. One thing is for sure, you definitely need to know your English language well.

You must be wondering how much does this cards cost? Here’s the breakthrough.

Survival of the Fittest cost USD40.
Black Knight‘s cost though can be ignored for collection purpose.

Still clueless? It’s Magic The Gathering card game. To know more about this game, you may visit Wizards Official Website on Magic The Gathering.

Pinktober Charity Bazaar Solaris Dutamas

Posted by danielctw On November - 4 - 2010

It was Pinktober last month and unlike others, it was a charity event which I have gone to check out with Yen at Solaris Dutamas.

Pinktober Charity Bazaar Poster

Since most of the stuffs are girls stuff and it’s Pink October (they usually associate this with Breast Cancer awareness), there is definitely bound to be girl’s stuff.

That is something which I don’t use and I can’t use. Of course, since it’s girls stuff, there are loads and loads of things Yen could buy. Yay for her. Well, amazed to see that there are live band there.

So what is a guy like me who is there got to do that day? Here’s the result.

Daniel Yen Caricature

Not bad eh. The looks are pretty almost the same. I always say, “Whoa look like Bruce Lee!!” She says, “Where got le, only look like my dear Daniel”. Awwwwwwww…..

I Travel with a Budget

Posted by danielctw On October - 27 - 2010

It is now October 2010. It has been like a hectic lifestyle for me this year with loads of events and photos and also mainly due to travel. Unlike last year where the main part of the travel plans is to Lhasa, Tibet. This year the places I have gone are Indonesia (Yogyakarta, Bali, Jakarta), Philippines (Manila, Vigan) and finally to Taiwan (Taipei, Shihlin, etc). That’s like load of travel plans I had this year. 3 different destinations and the amount I spent was only RM4k++ or the equivalent of USD1.5k inclusive of flight expenses.

On The Flight

The price there stated above is definitely cheaper than my 1 time travel to Tibet in year 2009 that reached around RM7000. As most of the time package of traveling in the places specified is usually tour group prices, the only thing that one can get it cheaper is by going on your vacation with cheap airline tickets. Imagine going to a place by flight with only RM9 (USD3) with a tax of RM30 (USD10) for a return journey. That will be the most awesome thing to do. Save on flight and enjoy the rest of it on the trip instead for example food, shopping, souvenirs, spas, mountain climbing and some scuba diving.

Cliff Behind the Clouds

Isn’t that what we all wanted, to enjoy the trip more than paying for the flight ticket. That is unless you’re someone who enjoys sitting at the first class seat. This is definitely not me.

I wouldn’t want to spend my cash on flights when I can at least use it to try weird stuffs like drinking from this hot pot of weird herbal soup with chicken remains.

Strange Herbal Soup in Tibet

Yummy~~~ I must say, when you’re hungry, you’re definitely not choosy. The above is a delicacy in one of the towns in Tibet.

In a travel, budget is important, as you will never know when you will be short of cash. Of course when you’re traveling always enjoy yourself and don’t constraint yourself with too minimal expenditure when you bring like RM500 for traveling but only spend like RM5. Well, you get the point. So just go ahead and enjoy. I know I will do that every opportunity I get travel and that’s what I want to tell other people who got that opportunity.

ENJOY . YOU ARE HOLIDAYING . NO LIMITS . PURE CLEAN FUN .

Be yourself. As for me, BE WEIRD but COOL. (Now where can you find someone who poses with a tripod and trying to act all cool)
