Not enough of Redang, the first part of the Redang crashing was more of the people that are in the trip. Well, it was at first hard to organize a trip such as this, but then looks like I enjoyed doing it. LOL…

Redang Kalong Got Crashed

Well, I guessed enough of people in the photos, I want to see the sceneries and the sea there. What a better way to showcase it then to have it feature on this blog eh… Well, a lot of other photography I should also research. I am still not as good a photographer like those with high tech kits, but with a D40, I think that’ll do.

While walking on the Long Beach on course with the Laguna Redang Beach, here’s a scenery shot of the Redang Reef resort along the rocky ground with the sea overlooking it. Though it’s been like 4 years since I stayed in Laguna.

But what about Marine Park, the very famous natural reserve now being taken care by the marine park personnels. They really do keep check all their corals there too.

Though the amount of people there made me lost interest in snorkeling. But if you haven’t yet snorkel yet, do give it a try, the corals there are breathtaking. Those still clueless, Redang Island is situated on the East of Peninsular Malaysia around the lands of Terengganu.

I love this photo the corals are just below and I was like standing on the hill taking shots like this. In another end, there are the bigger boats which is quite deep to even reach the coral end. Okay, I made myself missed Redang Island once again.

Well, night falls, and there goes another round of photos. A distorted moon, or moving moon?

The owner of Redang Kalong told us there will be a rising Red Moon showcasing out from the horizon. We waited while on the way to the Long Beach and yes, it was breathtaking, though the picture of it is very orangie due to the light settings in my D40. You really got to go see this when you’re there. Be warned though, you can only witness this awesome view if you’re staying on the beach along the east of Redang, so it’s a NO NO sight for those staying in Berjaya Resort on the east.

Well, reached Long Beach once again, and this time the moon was shining and the full moon. Woah, it glitters the sea and makes it a romantic kind of feel. It feels kinda nice looking at the sky, with the stars above. On a clear sky you are bound to see countless stars.

Well, though there is one shot I really wanted to share with you people. On the 2nd night, there are flashes of lightning after the storm. Here’s one clear shot that I’ve got. It’s bright at one side due to the crazy lightning activities there.

A lightning streak. I love this photo too. Well, now I can’t wait for the next island trip. What more, I can add more dive logs. I need to create my own dive log template. I see Lasker’s and Elise’s dive log book, I was mightily impressed with it.

Enough of Redang, or still want to have more photos of it, there’ll be more coming up in my Flickr account and if by request, there will be another post. All depends….

Would you believe it’s now already one week after the first day of Redang Island trip with fellow and friends and ShoutOuters. It was that long, it really is. Here am I sitting and pondering, what a wonderful time most of us had. Well, it was fun while it lasted, though I think I lost my cap to the bus, my shades to the sand, and my memories of the dive trip in my dive log book. Yes, REDANG ISLAND was fun.

The ones that went on this trip were ……

By the time we arrived, the sea was so blue from the reflections of the sky that such peacefulness could be felt within. Well, just looking at the above picture would tell you how clear the sea was. Yes, stayed in Redang Kalong, the same place I used to stay for the past 2 years. Seriously a good place for divers to visit.

Seeing that I am a regular in this place, it was to my attention that I would bring my camera while the rest of the gang goes snorkeling. Well, I meant in Marine Park though. Marine Park is overrated for old visitors like me, but it is indeed a good experience for rare Redang goers. The amount of people in the Marine Park is simply uncountable. You’ll see in the next post when I touched about the surroundings and sceneries.

Armed with my 55 – 200mm VR lens, that was the furthest my lens could go. Well, I should have opted for the 70 – 300mm VR lens but as fate would have predestined me to limit myself within the budget. Well, like someone said, those lens are good for ‘sniping’. Especially the 2 partners in crime, following the darkhorse all the time. Hehehehe….

Just below the jetty and I’ve got 7 of them. Look at the sea, it’s translucent and you can actually see the coral bed below. Now that’s how clear the water was and you can see the smiles on their faces. Well, it sure was fun being down there right. With murray eels, Giant Black Grouper and Nemo (Clownfishes) and sea cucumbers all waiting to be seen.

The photos are nice, but I am missing a few other photos that got destroyed in the corrupted Hard Disk. So now I have only one camwhore photo with another Shouter, Angeline. Well, she’s my D40 co-camera person. Hohohoho…

Clearly the sun was shining like some global warming was around and here we are taking photos. Sorry for the unshaven look though, well if I was shaven, I would look super duper young.

So did you had fun looking at these outing shots we had. Yes, all this are possible as we got to know each another through a ShoutOut widget. Besides we have 2 new ShoutOuters who have joined us on this trip. Glad to have you girls on board.

Meet the new members. Lisa and Lee May. Funny though, both starts with ‘L’ the way I call them. Until many more trips and many more adventures, we shall meet again yeah. I heard someone said Pulau Perhentian next? Perhentian Island?

Don’t know what to say, but let’s take a break from another Sabah adventure and focus on what’s coming up next? Yes, there will be a trip up to Redang Island in the coming month, though the number of people going is still not sure. I need to book the rooms ya. So if you’re late, I will go ahead with the plan that there are only 6 people. So if you’re really going, tell me you’re going and get ready to pay a deposit for this trip.

Anyway speaking about Redang Island, I went and look into my old old photo archives and found out and old old photo of me in Redang Island for the first time which was year 2004. Yes, that’s like 4 years ago and it was the year I graduated. Those days, I can really see corals thriving near the sea bed and the amount of fishes. There were no banana boat that time. Not so much pollution and destroyed corals. Well, even the More More Tea Inn was in perfect condition.

Well, looking back at these old photos, I do missed those times with fellow coursemates going for trips and such. Besides the trip to Redang Island was my first time sitting on a plane. Yup, I was a bit anxious to have my first plane ride. But those times, I don’t really pose for the camera. Hardly pose, which explains how plain those photos were that time.

Yeah, it was a fun outing, I must say, well, memories will indeed be memories. Treasure them. Everytime I arrived in Redang, it makes me think of how much fun it was. Well, not to mention the amount of girls that went during that trip. XD 4 years have passed. What else has changed?

Now what do you see on the picture above. Yes, it’s a totally different story now. 2 heads are now gone with don’t really know what happened to it. Yes, if you were to go to Redang to witness this place and take the same pics like what I did, you’ll bound to be disappointed with the beheaded placards.

So anyway, I once again appeal, those that are going to go for this June’s trip, please confirm with me as fast, if not I will have to leave without you or rather if it doesn’t work out, I will not bother doing anymore trips at all.

What??? Do I see the title correctly? What do you mean no Redang Cleanup? Yes, it means what it meant to be. This year, I have to forego my Redang Island annual cleanup held at Redang Kalong. Yes, it is the Redang Island situated on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Huh? There was an annual cleanup? You guys/gals didn’t know eh? Hmm have a look at this blog post at eXploitTravel and you might get a clearer picture then. Yes, if you’re diving you’ll get 7 project dives and if possible an additional leisure dive. *Cries* I really wanted to go, only that I dilly dally and wasted my time making the decision. Also with the D40 camera that I’ve just bought and also the trip recently in Perth, my financial backing is kinda limited.

Well, there’s always a next year and I can also wait for the upcoming ShoutOut trip in Redang or Perhentian either in May or June 2008. Wheee~~~~

But then I will miss my friend the Morray Eel, Blue Spotted Sting Ray, Puffer Fish, Parrot Fish and many many others. Looks like it’s time to have a few look at my friends there.

Well these shots are all taken underwater, and it was magnificent, even I was amazed myself. Damn… I really need to get those macro lenses for my new camera. Must survey again for a new camera. Maybe I should create a wish list at my side panel. So, why not let the pictures do the talking? I am sure you’ll all like to view photos more than me blabbering about.
