• Redang Kalong Got Crashed
8 CommentsWould you believe it’s now already one week after the first day of Redang Island trip with fellow and friends and ShoutOuters. It was that long, it really is. Here am I sitting and pondering, what a wonderful time most of us had. Well, it was fun while it lasted, though I think I lost my cap to the bus, my shades to the sand, and my memories of the dive trip in my dive log book. Yes, REDANG ISLAND was fun.

The ones that went on this trip were ……
Guys : Aaron, Hugo, David, William, Satkuru, Lasker & Me
Girls : Wendy, Lee May, Lisa, Angeline & Elise
By the time we arrived, the sea was so blue from the reflections of the sky that such peacefulness could be felt within. Well, just looking at the above picture would tell you how clear the sea was. Yes, stayed in Redang Kalong, the same place I used to stay for the past 2 years. Seriously a good place for divers to visit.

June 27th, 2008• Gunung Nuang Waterfall
4 CommentsExpedition to Gunung Nuang, the group that will be going up and climbing the whole time. Well, not necessarily climbing all the way to the top, but nevertheless at least reach to the first waterfall stop. Well, along with both of my Sony Alpha buddies and another Dark Side (Nikonian), we’re going to go on the hike.

Here’s a description of Mount Nuang (Gunung Nuang) based on Wikipedia.
Mount Nuang (Malay: Gunung Nuang) is located in Malaysia with the height of 1493 meter. Its peak marks the meeting point of three Malaysian states; Negeri Sembilan, Pahang dan Selangor. The mountain itself is the highest point in Selangor and part of the Titiwangsa Mountains.
There are three hiking routes to the peak and all of them were built by Malaysian Department of Wildlife and National Parks. Two of them start in Selangor; one at Kuala Pangsoon in Hulu Langat and another at Kampung Kemensah in Gombak. The third path originates from Bukit Tinggi in Bentong, Pahang. Genting Highlands is visible at night from the peak.
So onward we go!

Snap!! Snap!! Snap!!
So we are now at the waterfall and eeerr… why is my photo dark. Well, actually right, I put in my ND filter too fast. O_o

LOL!! We’ve got someone who is good in posing there. Ho! Ho! Ho!
People kept saying I take sceneries better than my portraits. Well, in a way, I believe that is so too, that’s why I am Nikonian. Or maybe just that to me I hardly take portraits as I take sceneries and environment more. Well, when you’re an adventurer, you’re bound to take more scenery shots.

June 22nd, 2008• Going Sabah Finale [Beach]
6 CommentsYes, after what seemed to be a long winded post about Sabah, I decided to end with a few shots and the last of it with the title of let’s go to the Beach. The only Jetty on the west side of Sabah, Jesselton Port. By the way in case you didn’t know, Jesselton was what Kota Kinabalu was called before you know it was changed to Kota Kinabalu for obvious reasons. Malaysianism.
Here is an excerpt how it became known as Jesselton.
In 1899, the site for setting up a base on the mainland was named Jesselton, after Sir Charles Jessel - the vice Chairman of the Chartered company. Soon after the administrative centre was moved from its location at Gantisan.
I’ve got to hand it over to the tourism industry there for preserving what seemed to be an old phone booth.

Done with HDR on a single JPEG file. Still don’t get what is HDR, you can refer to Wikipedia to know all about HDR imaging. But just before we leave for the island trips and beaches and sandy bars, have a look at their port.

Amazing isn’t it. Well, guessed it’s time to get your ass over to Sabah now.
Where to destination?? Pulau Sapi, one of the most beautiful island of the west coast of Sabah or rather Borneo. Hmmm… and I had enough of the HDR imaging that I didn’t do it for the following photos.

June 16th, 2008• Sabah Sceneries
7 CommentsSabah, the beauty of it. East Malaysia where most of the islands and landscape remained untouched. The land of tranquility and the home of the biggest flower in the world, the Rafflesia.

Oh yeah, this was the only flower I found that was alive. Too bad, Rafflesia only lives like 1 or 2 weeks depending on how long it can last. So it’s a very rare flower to see when you’re in Sabah, if you’re unlucky, none to see. Well, I thought that when I descend down the trail from Mt Kinabalu, at least there would be one to see

If you think seeing a Rafflesia was rather worth it, wait till you see the super fruit, the Magic Pineapple. Yes, funny right, this is really an out of shape pineapple. Somehow those green thing above it makes it looks like it’s hair covering the balls grass. So bushy so errr..green?? SWAMP THING! O_o
