Live in Motion

Posted by Daniel Chew On January - 23 - 2008

Happy Thaipusam to those celebrating it!!

It’s now the mid of January 2008! Look see look see, the time pass by so fast. Now looking back from year 2007, we’re now in 2008, life passes by so fast, we just think how it all passes. Like we’re living in a fast forward world.Come to think of it, life to me has been pretty awkward, going up and down. When there are times that I have been down, I have friends who sends sms greetings to cheer me up, which I greatly appreciate. Well, guess that’s what friends are for eh…. So now this is another motivational article by Daniel!

Life Moving Fast

We all kinda know that in life, we need something, someone to hold back, like to support us. Although some people can survived on self motivation, it just doesn’t seem to be complete. Take sports, people strive for glory with the motivation coming from within, but in every sports there are fans cheering them onward. That gives the motivation factor a boost.

Another scenario, if you’re working then you spend lots of time to finish a pending task and after you’ve done it, you’re satisfied with it. Yes, self satisfaction is fun, but let’s say your boss comes in and gives you a pat in the back or an encouragement word saying, “you’ve done a great job, nice work!“. Now tell me you wouldn’t take it as a motivational factor. Like said, live is not motionless, something else can drive us further to pursue onward. Now if my boss said that to me, I think I will carry on working with a better perspective on the job. As a matter of fact, humans are easily pleased when it comes to this.

But of course, if you really think no one’s supporting you, you can also take my other option which is talking to Elmo. I am sure Elmo will be happy to listen to what you have to say! So don’t be sad to say nothing motivates someone to live on their life.

Or if you just don’t want to see all this, just reward yourself with a rest in an island, maybe Redang Island.

Beautiful Figure

Posted by Daniel Chew On December - 6 - 2007

Sometimes people take so much pain to be beautiful that they don’t mind going to the extreme to achieve something. I say it’s bound to happen when one wants to be beautiful or pretty. It’s the same almost everywhere too. Likewise, we all should be proud of ourselves for what we achieve. What I meant is that, be it we’re thin, muscular, fat, chubby, we should appreciate ourselves. We all want to be as beautiful figure as well.

Many people felt demoralized when they heard people calling them fat or too thin (well some find the too thin calling as a compliment though). Well, don’t be. You should be high in morale instead as it’s a motivation to improve oneself further. Imagine if no one call u thin or fat, then you’ll be just off your way thinking that I am perfectly alright. Ok, people call me thin and guess what I did, I am trying to gain weight as much as possible. But I don’t want to gain fats, I wanna gain muscle mass. That’s the way.. a-hah a-hah.

But there are certain people who thinks nothing about it and just ignore the remarks of people. These people are what we call as lazy. Well, I’ll be harsh but then it’s what it is. You’re thin, but you think yourself as perfect and don’t bother others. Either you’re one egoistic person or you just can’t lose or rather you have thick skin. Must be hard being working under you if you were the boss of a company.

I guessed I have very limited time to put any pictures on this post as I am still in the office right now. Tonight, there will be pictures of my previous trips and food hunting session.

Feel For Someone

Posted by Daniel Chew On November - 8 - 2007

Yes, it’s time for me to talk on this topic once again. Well, why is it that I have lots of opinions regarding this topic. Well some even mentioned that whether am I into one, which made me talk about these topics.

Come to think of it, to me is weird. Well, weird enough for me to talk about it. Well, that’s what Daniel is, WEIRD as in a good sense. *dot* *dot* *dot* OK back to the topic.

Hugging

Have you ever had that feeling that when you approached someone whom you have always talk normally and very casually when suddenly one day you can’t seem to correspond like always due to your mind playing games with you. Yes, not everyone faces this, but there are certain people who when affected by feelings, will be mumbling sometimes in their chat-ups.

WEIRD eh?? Not really! Well, my own observation has shown that it’s natural to feel nervous. Though I don’t know why I don’t face that. Either I emotionless (robot) or just that this isn’t my style. So what’s my style?? That’s for you people to find out.

Nervous Girl

So let’s say, if you’re not feeling nervous, what else? There are people who when they felt they start to love someone or rather like someone, they are careful in what they say to that person. Is like they are choosing their words wisely. Though when they talk to their friends is like another person itself. Hmmm.. pretender syndrome? Well, don’t play me out yet, but there really are people like that.

WTF is wrong? Will you go on becoming a pretender and trying to show a different impression amongst different people. Well, let me say this, if you can’t be natural, then don’t be a faker. I mean FAKER as in Fake+r not the Malay style of saying it ok!!

One person did ask me this! Why are you still single after all these while. The answer is… why are you so kepoh?? hehehe.. Guess I better sign off. I’ve got a mamak(hawker stalls) date to go. It’s nearly 9pm. Better get ready. I will talk more about it in my next post though. It’s fun studying and analyzing different people. Guess that’s why I chose the blog title WEIRD WEIRD DENIAL

Complicated Relationship

Posted by Daniel Chew On October - 2 - 2007

Life is not simple. It’s complicated. Even in a relationship, be it with friends, families and love ones. Even with pets. Well, I am talking about owner to pet relationship not those beastiality stuffs (ish ish..)

Anyway, well, sometimes it’s complicated that it’ll end up like a crossroad, and it’s just like a traffic jam. All wanted to divert another place and they’re just stuck in the middle not knowing where to go. Decisions need to be made, and consequences need to be endured.

crossroad

Relationship is never an easy thing. It’s always the beginning of an adventure as would one have when they first embark their journey from a small little baby to a young kid studying in elementary school.

Yes, it’s a life journey. Also being in a relationship doesn’t mean you’ve already accomplished your goals and end at that.

It’s more like you’ve started the race, just how you want to end the race? It’s either one finish it, or fall flat on their belly halfway through or some even worst, get injured and fall off just when they are reaching the finish line. I have an analogy on race tracks. But it really does fit in with this relationship thingy.

Well, but not all relationships are 100m race like, some are bumpier and that’s why there’s this hurdle race where one needs to jump over obstacles to reach their finish line. Let’s face it, if all relationships are just as easy as the 100m race track, the world would be a better place. Can you jump over the obstacle?

Well, on a relationship, sometimes these hurdle are there to help us grow. Well, like someone said, in every race, there’s always someone cheering you, wishing you that you’ll be able to succeed. Now, do you have that someone in your life to do that?

running mark

So if you so so don’t understand my complicated weird mind of Daniel, welcome to my topic. I love writing this articles once a while apart from my daily life travelings. Well, I am sort of melancholic, so I think of weird analogies with my topics too. I do hope that if you need a review on certain topics and want me to write on it, you can email to my email address above.

At least, you’ll get to share your views and concerns and I get to write a whole new subject.

Hang Tuah – Taming Sari

Posted by Daniel Chew On March - 8 - 2007

Finally history has been brought upon once again. My first article for this blog was upon the origins of Hang Tuah. Well, it wasn’t for that purpose to enquire what are his origins and where he comes from. It’s more to like why the heck that the education sector is taking the study on Hang Tuah out from the Malaysian history text books? Anyway that’s another story. To read more of my this article, refer HERE.

Since we’re talking about Hang Tuah, why not create a sequel to it. What was Hang Tuah (Hang Tiew/Too Ah)’s favourite and legendary weapon? It was a ‘keris’ (kris as pronounced in the English spelling), a miniature sword which it’s edges not straight but crooked. Those are the days when fighting and war was more into hand skills and techniques.

Comparing to our now way of fighting which are espionage, bombs & more bombs…boring…

Anyway back to topic, the kris for Hang Tuah (for simplicity purpose I’ll use Hang Tuah as Hang Tuah) was like what made him invincible through out his adventures. Well, his kris wasn’t just any ordinary kris, even had a name for it. The legendary “Taming Sari“.

Few facts and legends of Taming Sari

1. Taming Sari, classified as keris kuasa or bawar, is made of an alloy of 20 metal composites, some said to come from bolts holding Mecca’s Holy Kaabah gates.

2. It was said that Taming Sari could do Hang Tuah’s fighting for him – if Hang Tuah were menaced or in any way endangered, the keris would leap out of its sheath all by itself, fly through the air and attack the assailant, moving in the air whichever way the assailant dodged or turned, until it hit its mark.

3. The whole of the sampir and batang are covered in gold leaf, making it a keris gabus or keris terapang.

Funny though, during my primary school years which was in the 90s, the legendary Taming Sari was said to be thrown by Hang Tuah into the river and was never been found again. I was like shocked when I decided to research on Hang Tuah once again to find out whatever about him and maybe his special kris. It appears that somehow history have to be changed and it seems that the kris was recovered by Tun Mamat for the safekeeping for the sultan.

One of the legends and specialty of the Taming Sari was that it has it’s own natural powers. Like a flying dagger you see in movies. It can auto block, auto counter. Legend?? Fact or fiction?? Go figure..
