Petrol Drop 10 cents 25th Sept 2008

Posted by danielctw On September - 24 - 2008

Lo and behold, the petrol price in Malaysia is going to go down for tomorrow which is 25th September 2008 as in there will be more subsidies for the drivers and riders in Malaysia. Guess what though, it’ll be an astounding RM0.10 less. So the petrol price is RM2.45 now for tomorrow instead of RM2.55 and there are few things that will be going on today.

The petrol kiosk is going to be out of business today while everyone will be waiting for 12am for the petrol price to drop then pump his or her vehicle to the max. So expect very busy congestions at night around 11:45pm.

Why did the petrol price go down and why only 10 cents, here’s the quote from the television.

“Pak Lah said can’t go down too much due to Petronas would be losing as the crude oil price goes down.

In a way, it’s logical but well, a subsidy is still a subsidy. By the way here’s the news in some Chinese websites that I couldn’t get the link. If you can read Chinese, here are some more information to the pricing of diesel and the rest.

Permatang Pauh Runway to By-Elections

Posted by danielctw On August - 25 - 2008

First I want to rant, why oh why is it that where I am now is not having a holiday. No public holiday… NOOOO… and the hoo haass all in Permatang Pauh for the By-Election.

Another side note though, it’s not necessarily a compulsory public holiday for all though, as mentioned by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib.

Najib 3D Glasses

Najib 3D Glasses

Quote from NST Online

“If it was for the people to come out and vote, then the private sector employees or factory workers could have been given one or two hours to exercise their right before returning to work.” – Najib

Now now now, though there are actually certain companies not observing the holiday because they need to service clients from around the globe and country and in a way it’s true too. Imagine a backlog for those not working. But let’s just say the hype about this by-election is more of actually putting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim back into the parliament and the Dacing is trying it’s very best to prevent that from happening. With the Penang an opposition stronghold, it’ll be a task of a battle for the Barisan Nasional to wrest the seat out from the latter.

Though after a brief walkthrough background of who is going to contest the seat in Permatang Pauh under the Barisan Nasional, one must not write off Ariff Shah. Well, seemingly unknown until now (not really unknown, just that not as outspoken as others), he seems to be doing a great job going village after village. Funny though, that was what the opposition used to do in Penang years ago.

Peh Moh Ariff Shah

A man (known as Peh Moh) with the capability to speak Hokkien which is the native Chinese voters here who speak that dialect really is one of the many points. Unlike other politicians from the fray, the capability to have the first hand discussion with the public due to his master of language of both Mandarin and Hokkien helps the Chinese there to convey messages to him. Permatang Pauh though has a majority of Malay settlements and this is where the makeshift of the power struggle for Ariff Shah to convey over. Well, all in all the votes of the chinese there would be crucial to a point too.

The Makeshift Balance

Now the only thing if BN were to lose the seat, they should actually try to reduce the deficit loss they suffered during the General Election.

Another key point is the establishment of another party which could actually rocked apart the votes and practically bring some individual support out of the competition.

Prediction

A win for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be imminent for his grass roots in the contested seat. Though, sometimes it’s hard to predict the outcome of Malaysia’s politic saga with a vote can just downturn and go into another way. Malaysia Politics is never what it was, and I expect a good fight tomorrow.

Nevertheless, the only thing I am fuming about now is, Why am I getting no HOLIDAY??? ROARS!!!

Wrinkles Once Uncle Stage

Posted by danielctw On August - 23 - 2008

Hmm.. this is so going to be a funny post. Well, just when I couldn’t find a picture for this week’s theme, which is wrinkle, I was looking through my photo archives and guess what, there’s a photo out there for me to use.

What better way to even tell a story. Everyone of us are young, and to top it off we all do our best to try to remain young and youthful whenever we can once we reached a certain age. I still remember when I was 5 years old, I can’t wait to grow up to go out on my own, but then now the feeling is not to let yourself old.

Such funny minds we have. Yes, anyway here’s someone’s photo.

Wrinkles

Heee.. someone has already had the wrinkles around. Shhh… suits the theme but I might get strangled by him. Runzzzz…..

Debate Is Going On

Posted by danielctw On July - 16 - 2008

With the recent debate in Malaysia, everyone knows that it’s something that can actually affect the public’s point of view. I must say it involves 2 different people with 2 different ideals, without them, there’ll be no different point of views.

Seriously, I think the public has had enough of the riff raffs going on in the country. I am thankful though that finally the showdown is stopping slowly with this debate that was aired live on TV with Shabery and Anwar on both ends. Well, at least it paves the way for the government to stop bickering and start working for the people.

It’s been like 5 or 6 months after the election and can we finally say, “Let’s get over it and start doing something for the people!”

It feels kind of weird that after we had the blog fighting saga of Dawn Yang and Xia Xue. (Though this doesn’t involved the public in Malaysia but then……. I am sure most of you read blogs online)

Dawn with XiaXue

Love them both :)

Well, but for the public in Malaysia it was the Najib vs Anwar case…..

Najib and Anwar

Now that with the opposition party stressing out that they’ll change the government with cheaper oil rates, Shabery steps in to debate with Anwar on why is the oil price rate the price that it is.

So Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek faced off with PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the fuel price issue.

AHMAD SHABERY CHEEK

Quoted from the Star

Anwar repeated his pledge that if Pakatan Rakyat were to take over the Government, the price of fuel would be reduced the next day.

He said it was irresponsible to compare the rise in the fuel and diesel prices in countries such as India and China unlike Malaysia which produces oil.

Final Verdict : It appears on Malaysian TV that Ahmad Shabery has won the debate, but it was close so to say. Let’s see how’s the public response to it.

Graduates Are Coming Out

Posted by danielctw On July - 8 - 2008

It’s going to be that time of the year soon. More and more graduates are coming out from their respective universities, more challenges awaited them, and more challenges awaits those in the working field. The time where all the working people are so going to say, what… new competitors for my post.

Though all this can be countered upon by doing a little bit skill upgrades and making sure that you’re worthy to be retained.

I still remember the first few days when I was studying in the college and the day of graduation came. Syioknessss….. It was the time I can finally stop studying and get on to the real business.

Graduation Ceremony

Many years have passed since then, and by the time you know it, where are your fellow friends during those days in college. Especially in a big town like KL, you’ll have friends from all over the city. From north, south, west and east. With the timetable all being so tied up, most of them aren’t that free, same goes to me too.

You know, it’s easier to stay in touch with your friends of your school, college, university when you’re living close or rather in the same housing estate. Well, though I also had a problem doing that with those in my class during my secondary school years. LOL… I used to be in the science stream but then I hardly mix around during that age.

Some people say,
“Friends come and go”
but how about
“Friends that come and are around when you needed them”

Anyway that’s another topic. I tend to go off topic at times.

Seeing that once someone graduates, it’s fun. Well, until the time they started working. They’ll dread their life to be able to go back to studies once again. Why, there’s no office politics, no crazy idiotic bosses telling you that you’ve haven’t finished what they’ve instructed you to do (though actually you know nothing about) and worse come to worst, you’re being put into a danger zone by all your colleagues and managers.

Boring Work

“That sucks wei~~~”

So have I done enough to scare the graduates. LOL… Well, that’s life I supposed. But it’s funny though, why the heck in Malaysia, is there still many jobless graduates. Well, something is wrong here, though I wouldn’t want to point fingers. It could be the education or rather the people and soft skills of the graduates.

Damn the ruthless and lousiness.
