Web Hosting Information

Posted by Daniel Chew On May - 27 - 2008

Shocked…. Amazed… Now why would I feel that? Those of you who know will know that it has been like few years back or rather just a year ago that I registered my domain and found a web host. Then suddenly out of the blue, *poof* I find that those who were previously in blogspot, now have their domain too. If you know Wendy, she now has her own domain http://wenster.net, and even charleskey own domain at http://charleskey.net.

Though one thing is for sure, none of them have moved to a paid hosting which I believe that one day they will too. I am sure there are many more other bloggers out there who is looking for an affordable cheap hosting and also a place for them to blog and be free with their own hosting instead of relying on blogger.com. Let me enlighten a bit, there are servers which can help host your sites and it’s divided into 2 usually. They are dedicated servers for dedicated web hosting and servers for shared web hosting. Cheapest option would be to go look for shared web hosting packages. Of course there are lots of other sites to find out all about web hosting tutorials.

If you’re really clueless as to why people decide on shared web hosting, have a look at a site which talks about web hosting packages and tutorials. Personally if you also need my help, then I would have no problem too. Just remember to contact me through email. A spooky corner will be up in the coming month. :)

Assmble Your Own PC

Posted by Daniel Chew On May - 16 - 2008

Modem Fried. CPU fried. What else??? Even my hard disk crashed on me. Time to get a new computer? Well, this scenario did happened to me a few years back. Back then the only possible solution I can think of is just get a brand new computer to use. Somehow it works.

Though somehow I wished I knew how to build a computer from scratch then. Yes, I live in the era of the 486 and my first PC was a Pentium 166Mhz. It’s now so easy to build a PC on your own and save about $100 of cost. Well, instead of paying for the assembled pc and saving on the extra cost that somehow the shop charges you, why not get a basic starter kit of a PC module and start building it instead. But understood, many people actually think about it second time of fixing their own PC less they themselves destroyed the components themselves. Not advisable for non computer or technical savvy person.

Though I do hope that if you’re really going to assemble your PC, just wait till you see how this guy assembled his. ROFL!!

Well, so it’s best you all keep quiet and don’t tell him about that, because it’s a very very big secret, if exposed later he will go berserk and be part of the monkey gang that stole the bike.

Train to be MCSE Certified

Posted by Daniel Chew On April - 27 - 2008

Looks like I am back now and yes once again, I suddenly dread why is my holidays coming to an end. Anyway I guessed it’s time for me to carry on. Well, one thing though I am always clueless during my college years are what the heck are VOIP? Then I found out it was Voice Over IP (Internet Protocol) which finally created the IP phone. Now not to say I know nothing about it but my company is currently using this technology.

This brings to my view that I should start picking up all this knowledge. Well, what a better way than to first get a MCSE training to become a Microsoft Certified Engineer. Well, I actually did have plans to take one but now with my field in java, I doubt my company even want to pay for it. Nevertheless, I think it’s alright though, but I think it cost a lot to implement that IP phone.

Guessed it’s still a lot of things for me to learn. Oh ya… in case you’re not sure what is MCSE, it’s Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
