Geeky Video Conversion

Posted by Daniel Chew On August - 15 - 2008

Good morning, man… it’s so tiring. Yeah, recently why have I been writing programming codes is due to me working in a new working environment and my mind is full of codes and programming stuffs. Indeed…. until even someone mentioned in the comments that I have been geeky through out this week.

Looks like in the office there’s nothing much to do as I am still new here so why not play around with some video conversion files. Heee.. especially those movies I recorded using my Casio Exilim camera. The files are big especially since it’s a avi file format. Must be crazy then. Those videos are a video of the Blur Queen BlurJess, Hike of Bukit Tabur and church events.

Hmm… some videos though about those comical scenes, I had once converted them to 3gp format, which can be seen on your mobile phones. Of course I forgot what software I used for it already. I’ve always thought that one can convert movie files into other movie files, but then there’s such thing as changing image to convert to AVI format. Huh?? Don’t need to be crazy a bit, just have a look.

Haha.. converting Ducktales cartoon is such a pain in the ass.

Hor… now instead of just me converting it to 3GP, there are like so many other movie formats, like FLV, iPod even PSP??? Playstation Portable?? That’s something new. Wait wait later I go convert all my big Hong Kong dramas from avi format to other formats. Yeah, have a collection of Hong Kong drama series at home and with my 40Gb hard disk, this is so going to help me. Not enough space right!

Opps.. you want to get this software, you can get it from here though.

Eh… today’s Friday and looks like it’s going to be weekend. More photoshoot to be done tomorrow. Wait now I can go for movieshooting too.. darn, new lens.. yes, don’t know why this week is more like geeky week for me.

Give Me Some SnapBomb

Posted by Daniel Chew On July - 29 - 2008

Remember when we were kids, we used to play this card game call Snap. Well, if you kind of forgotten what it is, here’s a look of one of a sample cards that plays Snap like game.

Snap Game

bomb

Now the game plan is simple, two identical cards out, someone just have to put his hand first on the card and says snap. Simple game, well, but after all this simple introduction, I ain’t talking about Snap. Now what will happen if I add a bomb into the game. Wouldn’t it be called a SnapBomb???

So welcome to the world of blog marketing once again, where you not only get to have topics to blog about, you also get to be creative in the way you present your topics. From my point of view, all you ever need is to buzz all about a single line of topic and poof… you’re on your way to blog advertising.

If you’re an avid fan of KennySia’s blog, you’ll know about the post he’s written for his sponsors, they’re authentic and originally Kenny’s word for word and undoubtedly wacky at times. Well, if you want to blog and earn at the same time, maybe SnapBomb is the answer. Yes, like what I said earlier, SnapBomb is actually a blog advertising opportunity for bloggers out there to start writing good quality and good quantity kind of posts to help them up to support their domain name renewal and hosting fees.

Well, believe me…. paying for your hosting is never cheap. Unless one grows a tree that produces money, then I really have nothing else to say.

moneytree

So I guessed Money Do Grow On Trees For Ya?? Well I wished for it too. *sparkling eyes*

Crazy Webhosting Dilemmas

Posted by Daniel Chew On June - 26 - 2008

Deranged Hair PullYou see, I’ve faced this common problem. I used to host my first blog on my own server or rather personal PC at home then I found out that I have timeout issues and bandwidth problems. Especially those that come in and said they are stuck and the webpage is not loading.

From then on, I decided enough is enough and moved onto a webhosting company to help me host my blog. Well, it really did saved me a lot of troubles managing the downtime and otherwise known technical issues. Especially I wouldn’t need to host on a Microsoft Server machine since I ain’t gonna use lots of Microsoft’s engine, let’s say .Net. Well, so finding the best web hosting is never going to be easy. Well, if there is a best web hosting service at all.

People like me, who is now in a financial burden after buying like lot of domains is going to face an issue too. With the limitation some of the servers giving me, I need a better dedicated server. Maybe try getting a web host that can allow multiple domains. One place I tried looking for comparisons of all the servers and hosting procedures was webhostinggeek.com. Nevertheless, I guessed it’s all personal preferences.

This ain’t your ordinary post. Well, after the downtime I had this morning, I was sure I am now on the verge of either hosting in other places, or rather giving it all up and finally move back to blogspot (though very high unlikely to do that, I love WordPress). Anyone here able to help?

Made New Friends in SocialSpark

Posted by Daniel Chew On June - 25 - 2008

It’s been like a month since I joined SocialSpark and I must say I am really impressed with all the ongoings and stuffs. Though one thing I lacked though is not doing any available opportunities in SocialSpark yet. Maybe this is the first one though.

Okay, for those clueless on what SocialSpark actually is, it’s a social networking site where one can also monetize their blogs, build community and drive traffic. It’s that simple really. Register and get ready to earn money and build up your network.

You must have wondered though, “But but but… Google’s going to penalized if we do sponsored post.”

Well, have no fear, one good thing about SocialSpark is that the links come with a nofollow tag. Now that’s one good news for those concern about their Page Rank.

As mentioned in their code of ethics, you have the answers to your everyday earnings.
-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly

Well, the most though is I get to make new friends, which I don’t know exist. Well, other people from other parts of the world too. Here’s a sample screenshot of how the friend request goes…

Friend Request SocialSpark

Kinda simple to understand. Anyway here’s another note, who else has an account in SocialSpark, do add me. It’ll be easier to stay connected too. Unlike other social networking sites too, I can even add prop for a socialsparker and even get propped by them. This enhances creditability and your standing in the SocialSpark network.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Advertisers are also welcomed to take part in SocialSpark, well, without advertisers there wouldn’t be bloggers at all right. Without bloggers there wouldn’t be advertisers too. I am glad that SocialSpark realized the importance of creating a medium for advertisers to advertise their advertisements using the blog method. In this age and time, going online is the sure bet.

Well, I am going to explore more stuffs first. Oh ya, you can look for me though, my name is Weird Daniel in SocialSpark. Hehehehe….

Petrol Rise RM2.70 Crazy Cars

Posted by Daniel Chew On June - 4 - 2008

Crazy Price Hike?? Petrol is what I am talking about. Well, previously we have been talking of the highest price hike was RM0.40 cents and people were complaining already. Now it’s RM0.78 and with every mind of Malaysians, well, kinda kiasu in a way, goes for a petrol pump spree. Not long ago, I received a sms from a friend telling me that Petrol is going up from a worker in a petrol station. Then Malaysiakini even mentioned it before the official news. What more??? Go straight ahead.

Lucky I was one of those early ones.
