BHP Orange Run 2009 Tiredness

Posted by danielctw On April - 12 - 2009

And so it seems it was Easter today. Well, the day when I was running the BHP Orange Run coincidentally that falls on this day. Yes, BHP Run which covers about 11km and at least I find that I did it better than the time when I was running in the Zoo Negara which was only 9.4km.

Orange Run 2009
The Curve, Mutiara Damansara
April 12, 2009; 7:30am
Organised by BH Petrol
11km

To say the least, the run was fun with lots and lots of participants. For the first time, I don’t feel as tired when the time I ran at Zoo Negara as I paced myself for the first 3 km only to lose my footing at some curb which made me walk later on for awhile. Still managed to go 1 hour unlike those winners which do 40 minutes. Nevertheless it was fun running again. At least better than sitting in front of the PC whole day whole night. Now this is what I call a sport, unlike badminton and others which are just treated as a game.

BHP Orange Run Redemption Counter

I was there, and met up with Kyuzo, an ex-colleague and friend who went running together. Well, this time I got to say he wins me in terms of stamina. I have a lot to catch up I think. We maintained pace until the final 3 – 4 km, he went on his own. Thus my journey started there and then. This track to my experience has a lot of uphill and downhill slope which I find I do better on the uphill run. Well, maybe due to my light body, I could actually run uphill faster. Also haha.. if you read my friend’s entry, I was a butt chaser too. LoL

The key this time was to wear light. I chose my basketball jersey and a very short shorts to run and right I was feeling lighter as the sweat doesn’t wet my suit and drag me down like it used to during the Zoo run. For those that wants to know the experience of running in this kind of run, you may view the video below courtesy of runwitme.

So what is my next race? What else? The KL Marathon Race would be next.

I am so into this once again. I should improve on my endurance and stamina. Getting a stopwatch would be a good idea.

DCIM Velocity Angels 2009

Posted by danielctw On April - 9 - 2009

The past weekend, DCIM organized a photography fair or rather a camera fair. Well, so to say, I want to know how it feels like and thus I was there to patron myself to all the models cameras there. Since I miss the first opening two days, I went for the finale of the fair and so happens it was the Finals of Velocity Angels 2009 (model pageant). Then finally I saw someone familiar that was pretty much unknown when I first met her that time. I can’t believe I don’t even know her when I first met her last time in KL Plaza.

Amber Chia

None other than Amber Chia. Hmmm… alright the photo doesn’t do her justice as one of the most known models of Malaysia. Seriously I am glad I can get this closeup of her though. As usual I rely on my 55 – 200mm lens to do all my portrait shots.

There are lots and lots of other model photos, but since I only select a few photos to display on a blog and the rest for safekeeping for further gallery use in the future, I portray to you the Dancing Team.

Dance Club Girls

This was the only shot of them that turned out nice. Well, what with all the scuffling of human pushing each another to get a good spot to get some shots. Hmmm… Ya, the crowd was crazy. I meant, 2 years back when I was holding a camera, the crowd wasn’t a lot and not everyone can afford a DSLR or rather they would want to get a DSLR. Seems like DSLR is so common nowadays that anyone can just pick it up and proclaimed to be a photographer. Haihz…. Nevermind, D40 away and up comes D300. Hee…

Well, if you don’t want to join them, just be a bit different from the rest, well, of course if you have a Nikon D3X then you’re the big brother there.

Rowena DCIM Velocity Girls 2009

One of the finest shot for Rowena. Well, in fact Rowena is one of contestants of Velocity Angels 2009. I must say she look good. Nice smile she got there. One more thing, the hair, it’s long~~~~

Though she didn’t win it though, so I shall present to you the winner of the Velocity Angels 2009, Miss Felixia Yeap.

Felixia Yeap

Seems like there are lots and lots of models out there now, and that’s good for the eyes country. Malaysia should nurture them as much as possible. As a matter of fact, AlvinC, my photography partner in crime who was there did a post on Velocity Angels. Yup, you can see me there with the winners and contestants.

So for the album, congrats Felixia Yeap on your modeling contracts, your prize and your status as a model.

Amber Chia With Felixia and MC

Now what do you know, Felixia Yeap seems taller than Amber Chia???

I shall sign off for now as I now prepare for my next event. The BHP Orange Run coming up this 11/4/2009 Sunday. Is also a prelude and training for my upcoming hike to Mt Kinabalu. Well, it’s been awhile since I travelled.

Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon

Posted by danielctw On April - 5 - 2009

Small Talk

I am starting a food blog and also a blog dedicated to Photography, more like a portfolio page. Be sure to stay tune.

.

On your marks get set go~~ It’s the F1 Race. Oh no wait, wrong topic. It’s the day when the Hot Air Balloon 2009 event that was happening in Putrajaya just a few weeks ago. So what about it? You didn’t know about it? I nearly couldn’t make it for this event as I got up later than usual and lucky a call from AaronWoolala managed to wake me up and off I fly to the place which took me 30 minutes from my housing area. What do you expect? Putrajaya, I need to go like 100km/h to 110km/h or 120km/h to reach there in that time.

Jeep Starting The Balloon

It looks like there are some balloons not up in the air yet when I reached there. Too bad I can’t enter the field though, but that’s where my trusty DX 55-200mm zoom lens come into handy. During daylight, no worries of lowlight condition, although I forgotten to set my ISO settings back to the lowest ISO. (oits…. too technical for non-photographer enthusiast).

The event was fantastic, I mean I don’t really get to see Hot Air Balloons in Malaysia as the place here is always full of rain and thunderstorms and yeah… rain and rain and rain. Now lucky it was a beautiful day and there’s hot air balloon to see. I was actually trying to be able to get to sit in the balloon though.

Hot Air Balloon Flying Off

Now look at the balloon going off, now look at the pitiful humans still staying down there. Darn, I wished I was in the balloon.

Dawn Lim Malaysian Dream Girls Special

Posted by danielctw On April - 3 - 2009

Malaysian Dream Girls was something I don’t really follow in the first season. All thanks to a friend I got hooked onto the reality show. Or rather hooked onto how many shots I can take with my camera. Unlike the people in malaysiandreamgirl.tv, they can’t be bias as to who they are supporting, but since I am not one of them, I can portray my support here.

Well, it’s weird, some people tell me that I am a supporter of Dawn Lim of Malaysian Dream Girls 2009 but I don’t seem to post any photos of her. Well, there are loads of Dawn Lim’s fans out there and I guessed instead of just saying I support her, here’s some shot of her during the Malaysian Dream Girl parade in Mist Club, Bangsar.

Dawn In Full Cheongsam

Dawn Lim Yeen Sze parading in full Cheongsam

But why so fast showing the finale. Like a few of you would know, the cheongsam is the last catwalk they have to do. But this could be the only full shot of her using the 55-200mm VR lens. So bear with me.

Proceed if you’re a fan of Dawn..

Small Talk

You know MDG? It stands for Malaysia Dream Girls. To keep yourself up to date, go visit www.malaysiandreamgirl.tv for your daily updates.

.

Haaa… it’s been already the week after the week after the week I was invited to go visit Mist Club for one event which is the Malaysian Dream Girls were meant to be there. To think though, I must thank a fellow blogger and friend for getting me in. Though to reach there, I need to be there at 6pm. But nevertheless, I think it was a good day to shoot.

Mist Club Malaysia Dream Girls Catwalk

What better day I had when I was there, I did not have to wait any longer and then you notice that the Malaysia Dream Girls 2009 participants are all dressed in lingerie and waiting to be snapped away. To think that, just look at all the cameras present there. Superb event hahaha… I think most guys enjoyed it.

Here’s another shot.

Lingerie Malaysia Dream Girls

Ahemzz… if only there weren’t any other photographers at the background to cloud the shooting, how nice it could be. Hmmm.. alright, I was busy shooting to even bother whether there were photographers there at the background, but just so happens that I forgot to change my lens and was stuck with the kit lens which is the 18-55mm.
