Celebrating 21s!

Posted by SWei On July - 15 - 2011

Oh hello everyone!

I was going through my usual routine of my facebook checking when I suddenly remembered the brief chat I had with Mr Chew himself the other day. Failed to realise that him “going away next week” was actually this entire week itself! Sorry Daniel. And OH HEY, SAVE ME SOME COCONUTS, MR CHEW! The Malaysian weather is so hot I’m melting in KL!!!

Can I not tell everyone where Daniel actually is now? I mean, try guessing with the available pictures? And come back again to check whether your answer was correct as well as enjoying his awesome photography and wonder where on earth he actually is climbing trees getting coconuts and all. OK? DEAL? OK.

Anyway, yes, it’s the summer/ winter holidays!!!- depending on which part of the globe you are actually. Them Aussies are escaping the cold whilst the UK people are well, spending their summer time in where else but the very awesome sunny Malaysia! =) July is a busy month. Friends from Australia and UK are all back and it’s been party time for the past few weeks! It’s insane- and that’s because I stayed out till latest 1am. I KNOW RIGHT, I’M SO HARDCORE I STAY OUT AFTER BED TIME. Kidding. Haha.

For one, everyone seems to be celebrating their 21st extravagantly whilst everyone’s around. Mine’s soon! Yes, now you can roughly DEFINITELY know my age. Haha. =)

The first 21st party was at Ecoba. Pretty awesome place for drinking, I guess? I have no idea, I don’t drink but the girls seem to love it a lot. The ambiance was fair. Good food, definitely. Haha, it’s funny you know, most of the parties are basically with most guys ended up being the designated drivers. And those people are just mad, making the birthday girls taking shots and making them wasted/ tipsy! The theme was Naughty or Nice and I went as a nice school girl… because that’s what I am! :)

The nice school girl's trying on naughty bike rider's helmet. Hahah.

Second 21st party was just so great… falling on the exact date whenthe BERSIH RALLY was going on. Anyone went for the rally? I was banned from going out thus I missed it. MY FRIEND’S PARTY I MEAN. ;P What a shame though. My parents was just worried there’d be such havoc in KL that everywhere’s affected thus the ban on ME. -_-

The theme was Oscar’s night and I had prepared to go as Daisy from The Dukes of Hazzard. *sigh

Not as sexy as this lah!

Apparently I won an award despite my absence. Hahahahah.

The 3rd 21st party was pretty awesome as well. Bedazzled 21! Everyone’s supposed to have a bedazzled item on them. Poor guys cracking their head trying to come up with any shiny and sparkly accessories! The entire affair was held in somewhere in the Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club. It felt somewhat like an engagement party of some sort, only because the place was mostly decorated in white and there are tables occupied by people beyond family and the close circle of secondary school friends.

Oh the strings of 21st celebrations and the best part of it all, getting the RIGHT presents for the birthday girls! =) I mean, how often do you get smses saying “THANK YOU FOR THE PRESENT, IT’S PERFECT!!!” right? I’m usually bad with getting people presents but I’m glad I got some right this time. After all, they’re for my friends of 6 or 7 years celebrating the first fresh step into adulthood. And yes, they’re all for girls. I’m seriously at loss as to what to get for guys, any suggestions?

Now, considering most of you are around Daniel’s age, you humbugs must be thinking ‘ah, been through, done that’… but hey, isn’t it nice to relive how you celebrated your 21st? ;) All those crazy moments spent celebrating with the most awesome people in your life… Toasting to adulthood and all the challenges it attracts. Ahhh, I’m considering mine to be a quiet one for most friends would have flown back to their respective studying place and well, family’s not that gung ho over celebrations. We don’t celebrate birthdays at home. =)

How about you? How was your 21st/ are you planning to celebrate your 21st? ;)

WHEN is Daniel’s royal wedding?

Posted by SWei On May - 1 - 2011

Hi everyone, it’s sweister the monster here subbing in for Daniel again. Hahahaha.

Soooo, hands up for anyone who watched the live broadcast of the Royal Wedding last Friday! Call me a mainstream junkie but ask any fairy tale loving girl and she’d tell you how romantic Prince William and Kate’s wedding was!

It was indeed a dream came true spanned from the likes of Cinderella and Snow White where the commoner got whisked away in her knight in shinning armour. I’m glad I watched the live broadcast of the wedding. (The whole ceremony till the kiss! Had to go back to studying after that.) It was so sweet, so romantic! The dress was alright, in my opinion. Not quite a trained eye for fashion, let alone bridal fashion but it was pleasant- I like the bodice from upwards but not so much on the puffy bottom.

Despite all the glitz and glamour of a ROYAL wedding, one can’t help but to feel heartache over the elephantine sum spent on just ONE occasion like that. Money, money, money! Tuition fees for UK universities just keep skyrocketing… budget cuts everywhere and they dare have such extravagant wedding celebration. T_T

Oh well, let’s just give the newlyweds a break, shall we? And shift our focus to our very own Daniel.

Seriously, don’t you want to get married as well after watching such well documented royal wedding? This whole wedding extravaganza inevitably attracts the ultimate question: WHEN is Daniel’s very own royal wedding? Hahahaha. With all the countries hopping he’s doing right now, one might think he’s looking for the perfect honeymoon location. ;) Bugger’s living the life of a free man traveling here and there!

Hahaha.

Now I should be back to revising my ‘Confessions’ topic. Exam’s on the 9th!

Or perhaps look for ways to bid for Kate Middleton’s transparent dress.

I want to seduce Prince Harry when I go to Wales for my final year of my degree. Kidding. Haha.

I want a new phone!

Posted by SWei On September - 22 - 2010

The first ever mobile phone I got was an old second hand Nokia phone.

.

It was huge and bulky. Most importantly, its cover was opaque and purple in colour. Purple is my favourite colour. It has this dragon motif on its back which lights up every time there’s an incoming call. A modification my friend rendered for me because it was a second hand phone and she was selling it to me for only RM50.

nokia-3315

Never knew the model name till now but definitely remember the mucous-like keypad.

.

When you’re 14 and every one around seems to be reachable via a personal line, you’d want the same too. I lapped on it immediately, after loads and loads of begging from my mum who reluctantly gave me the money.

.

When my dad found out though, he was furious. A 14 year old should not be given the privilege of a mobile phone. Moreover, the phone was a second hand product wherein I didn’t check thoroughly before purchasing it. The phone I bought has way too many technical problems that because I’ve got myself a prepaid SIM card already (SIM card those days were so expensive! RM50 was it? I’m pretty sure it used to cost so much more than SIM card these days), I was given my dad’s older one to use instead.

.

The first mobile phone was then given to my younger cousin as a toy.

.

Since then, mobile phones I had were all hand me downs from my dad (probably 1 or 2 after that?), except 2 years ago when my dad finally bought me an XpressMusic phone, the bulky sliding one, with no questions asked. I was surprised; it was not like I really deserved a new phone anyway.

.

Recently though, I realised my increasing want of having a WiFi function in my phone. Surfing the web on prepaid account costs money. I went into a few stores and checked out a few models. I haven’t found one that I like yet I’m hoping for a new phone.

.

My opportunity came last Sunday when my dad told my 12 year old twin brothers over dinner that they would need mobile phones next year since they’re going to be in secondary school.

.

13 year olds with mobile phones.
Kids these days get things so easily!
Thanks to us predecessors who fought for that privilege in the early days, AGREE?

.

“Daddy, since you’re planning to give them a mobile phone, get a new one for me and give them mine! :]”
“No, you’re NOT getting a new one. Earn your own money if you want one.”

.

What the.

.

The boys better appreciate what they’re getting else I’m confiscating whatever phones (hand me downs or not) they’re getting for my own use! Kidding. :]
.

Question: So hey, when is your first mobile phone?

Career VS Job.

Posted by SWei On July - 12 - 2010

Greetings, loved ones. :D

AHAHHAHA. Sound familiar? It’s from Katy Perry’s “California Girls“. The radio has been playing it almost every single day it’s bloody ridiculous. Just some random day last week, I heard the song like four times: on my way to work, TWICE on my way to court and another one time on my way home.

Anyway, I’m supposed to update Daniel’s blog when he’s away to wherever he is going to this time (DARN THAT LUCKY DUDE) but as always, my responsible self forgot about it till I actually signed in on MSN and saw a message: A twitter direct message from the man himself.

*

*

WHOOPS!

Anyway, good day (scratch that, more like good evening considering the time now) readers of WeirdWeirdDenial! Wait, hasn’t it always been WeirdWeirdDaniel? I never actually realised it’s Denial! SINCE WHEN IS DANIEL IN DENIAL… of his awesomeness in mastering the art of weirdness?!

LOL.

So well, back to the main topic. In case you guys don’t know me at all, as if you guys were actually familiar with me to begin with, I’m a long time CYBER (yea, I haven’t actually met this blog owner yet) friend of Mr Chew, currently on a summer (SUMMER IS SO ENGLISH, AHAHHA) 3 months’ break doing my attachment. :) Sort of like internship, really.

The thing is, this is my first time having an office job of that sort. Kind of cool, really. To be working with 20 somethings (mid 20s), like the age group of most readers of this blog belong to, I assume. It was one of those lunch breaks when I followed the seniors when I couldn’t resist my admiration (NO I’M NOT AS WEIRD AS YOU’D LIKE TO THINK I AM) towards their current achievement that I went:

You know, I think you guys are awesome, to be able to have a CAREER at such a young age.

*

*

Everyone stopped eating.

*

And stared,

*

*

hard.

*

*

With eyes wide opened as huge as the plates our food was served on.

*

*

Did I, like, say something wrong?

Are you joking or what? You don’t call this a CAREER. Footballers are the ones having careers. Career is something where you do what you like and is successful in it. This is NOT a career. This is a JOB.

*

*

Hmmm.

Career?

Job?

I never really thought about it hard enough. After all, I just completed my first year a month plus ago.

So hey, are you having a CAREER or currently stuck in a rut you call “MY BLOODY JOB” which is enough to pay your basic needs? :)

p.s: Credits go to google for the pictures.

Badder romance.

Posted by SWei On January - 16 - 2010

Hello readers of WWD! =) It’s me again, injecting some weirdness here on behalf of Daniel because well, lucky him, he’s awaaaayyy from the hustle and bustle of good ol’ KL for a while!

Anyway, a few days back Lady Gaga tweeted this video. I’m not sure whether you guys have checked it out or not but I’m gonna have it here up anyway. Heh heh.

A remake of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance‘. Cool ey? (;

Oh and in case there are any business or law students peeping around here, (excuse my shameless promoting of the event but it does seem like a really good opportunity to check out various universities and explore your future career options!), there’s an education fair tomorrow. Details below:

KL LEGAL AND BUSINESS EDUCATION FAIR 2010.

Sunday, 17 Jan 2010, 11am- 5pm.
