Today as I go on my daily life, in the office reading the daily Sun, I have learnt new words. Since it has been a mundane and painful week (post-marathon effect, more on this soon), I have decided to amuse myself with the political scene in Malaysia.

Political prostitute? What a funny way to get ejected from a state assembly because of these words. When I read the news over the Sun Newspaper I was astounded.

From my understanding, the following words Political Prostitute can meant someone who sells himself for the means of being too involved in politics. From The Sun, it seems that one of the reasons Nga Kor Ming was asked to withdraw that statement was because of the reason of an insult to women.

Deputy speaker Datuk Hee Yit Foong, who was presiding, asked Nga Kor Ming (DAP- Pantai Remis), who was debating the 2012 state budget, to withdraw the remarks as it was an insult to women.

She said, “It is an insult to women. Retract, or else I will not allow you to debate. Your mother and grandmother are also women.”

I wonder why? Was there a gender issue over the word political prostitute? Well, Nga could have used political slave (but that would meant something else). So in the end, I cannot think of anything wrong if based on The Sun itself. Maybe there is more than what was said, but I am sure you can be a judge to that.

Now imagined if I said political puppet, then later people say I am being derogative. Then if I said, political slave, I am being demeaning of lower class. How about political servant? Politically disabled? In the end, I think everyone would be forced to be nice in an assembly. I guessed that is how it would be. All things could be argued in the politic scene. I guessed that was what made politics drama like in our beautiful country.

Actually my case in view is how does one relate political prostitute with women? I still do not get it. Please explain. Also why are they fighting over something like political prostitute and frog? Why?

My 2 cents worth or my random weirdness. Also why am I suddenly talking politics. Must have been some weird medicine I took earlier. Doggone it.

The Penang Bridge International Marathon 2011 is just another 2 days away. Well, sort of and this will be Daniel Chew’s first full 42km marathon run and the venue is Penang. Why Penang? How do I feel right now? Though I ran the PBIM 21km last year too.

It makes me feel super excited to run my first full marathon in Penang because the venue is on the bridge itself. I also feel that this place also bring back lots of memories which goes back all the way to 2008. Well, let’s talk about the marathon first. I am also afraid if I could actually finish the marathon and get the medal at least. Have I taken enough precautions? Am I actually ready to run my first marathon? Can I do it within 6 hours? All these are making my adrenaline rush.

Anyway, like I said, it brings us back all the way to 2008 when I had my first crazy time with the people I knew then.

Imagine how much we all changed? I might not be as thin as before. Well time flies. It was 2008 and during that time, I do not even know the meaning of running in any runs. Fast forward 3 years, and now I am taking part in running events. By the way, that’s me and Aaron at the foreground. If you can squint your eyes a little, you can actually see that it is Willaz and Wendy at the background. It has been such a long time since I met them.

Well, all thanks to a cute chatbox that brought most of us to get to know each another. Thank you ShoutOut (formerly shoutoutlounge.com) for letting us know each other even though most of us have already past that stage, and moved on with our different daily lives. The chatbox is now dead though, so no girls for newcomers to ‘buaya‘.

Those funny times. Maybe we can relish those memories once more. I am sure we can. The time when we were known as the Southern Trio. Anyway, too excited about the run, I cannot really concentrate as to what I am writing right now. Maybe that is how it should be. So wish me luck as I will be running on Sunday. By the time this post is up, I should be on the way or already in Penang.

It was exactly 31st August 2011 when I made my withdrawal from Nuffnang Blog Advertising Agency. I finally got my hands on the Nuffnang Cheque in October. It has been like 3 years I have sticked to this ads blogging agency. Well, I was testing their payment withdrawal system since this will be my second payment I am getting from Nuffnang. Actually Nuffnang brought me back my memories on the first meetup with other Nuffies and also the Boss Stewie. Those days we were all young and simply the zest for blogging was more towards fun.

Fast forward, it is now 2011 and the last time I withdrawn my money from Nuffnang was like 2008. That is about 3 years since I actually withdraw any money. This is what came into my postbox a few days back.

I still remembered when I have gotten my first paycheque from Nuffnang back in 2008 and writing a post about it. I basically hid the value that I have gotten which was kind of stupid. I mean, why hide the value? Those naive days of me. Unlike now, I find that it is great if one can share their success of being with a blog advertising network  and thus encouraged others that this agency does pay. Though, if it works for me, it does not mean it will work for everyone. Just a bit of work and also constant visitors will get you the pay you deserve.

I am nowhere anywhere near those elite bloggers who have lots of money value. Until 2010, I was a constant consistent blogger. The year 2011 has made my life a bit different. I have even considered giving up blogging because I cannot keep up with my activities. Until then I thought, why stop?

Thank you Nuffnang for sending this cheque worth RM745.99 to me. Well, at least it is a pocket money while blogging.

I have been looking back at all my old photos and now thought back of all the fun things I have done during my younger years. After another 1 month, I would be having another new journey in my social life. Will I be back?

I shall do a brief introduction. It has been awhile since this web was renamed to Daniel Chew the Weird. Well, not that I am weird but weird in a different way. It is like saying I am weird but weird in a special way. I think differently which people usually do not think it that way. Let us say that I am able to somehow twist and turn certain things that it turns out weird. All in all, it means I am just weird. See, I guessed I am starting to confuse you with my weirdness.

Just a while ago, while I was playing Magic the Gathering card games, while everyone was making decks to win (winning to most people is considered fun as long they make it competitive), I find making hilarious decks superbly fun. Though I might not win all the time, it is when I suddenly see their weird expressions when I win it with the deck that gets my adrenaline rushing. You know how weird their eyes started rolling when a weird deck starts beating them.

Oppps.. let us go back to what I was saying, Daniel Chew the Weird is what DanielCtw.com means. Just look at the initials and you will get what I am talking about. Now what about the many faces of Daniel?

At times I might be wacky, doing some crazy stuffs (like jumping and trying to get that perfect pose) or I love to take my own portrait like how those girls love to take their own reflection on the mirror (rather than looking at the camera, look elsewhere, it changes the mood).

Like the above, it has been awhile since I did a jump shot and boy, my physique has changed quite a lot. Somehow I felt I no longer used to look like the young boy that used to blog in this blog doing more cute faces. These are but a few of the faces of me. The Wacky. The Serious. The Poser.

It has been like 5 years since this blog was established back in 2006. Reading back how I used to blog, makes me miss my childhood days (rather college days). Unlike now, as I grew older, my mind start thinking more and more things as more responsibilities are coming my way. You could say that, most bloggers mature and changed their style of blogging as they grow older. Just look at Kenny Sia, he has also cut down on his blogging and focuses more on his business (GYM). What about me? I might be the same age as him, but we all have our different goals in life. (Oh my…. lecture time? Skip it)

Though that does not stop me from what I love to do in my life. I love to travel. Now where was my recent travel place? The next photo would at least summarize it all.

Aha… that was where I was recently. Of course, next time I might give a crash course on how to pose? Why do I feel that I can pose well? You will know, sooner or later what I meant by that. Live life wackily and crazy and weirdly while one is still young. Time passes by in a flash.

Just last Sunday I was away, and finally had my run after what seemed like a long time since Standard Chartered KL Half Marathon 2011 which took place at Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square KL). This time on the 25th of September 2011, I took part in the Siemens 10.5km Run 2011 for the fun of it. Well, that is because I will for the first time be running in a proper running event together with my dear Miss Yen.

Once again, armed with only his HTC Hero he finally ran the whole course. What is his timing this time? It is 1 hour 34 minutes. Yes, basically it is 1’34’39. Slower than how I used to run? Not really, I was just testing my stamina on this one and this time it is totally different. Why is it different. I get to run along with …. JENG JENG JENG… *drum roll*

Dearest Yen. Ahhhh… finally after finishing the run. So now you know. That’s what I have been busy with. Preparing for the run together. At least something worthwhile doing. I am lucky cause I get to run with her for this run, well, at least doing activities together to ensure both of us keep ourselves fit and healthy and also it is a good practice.

I wonder, when will my next run be? We both ran and walked along the track, though our time might not be great, it was still better than some of the other participants who were actually slower. I am impressed with Yen as she was able to keep pace with me at certain areas where I tried to push her into running and jogging, constantly motivating her to run at times.

What I have learnt from this is that it is not about running fast or slow, it is who you run with. Of course, I think I will limit myself to 10km whenever there’s a 10km run.

PS: So far so good, she already ran two 10km run this year. I am gonna push her to run 3 runs next year.
