Do You Use a Credit Card?

Posted by danielctw On May - 27 - 2011

Sesame Chicken sounds yummy. It’s really yummy.
Sesame Chicken

Ops… this is not what I was supposed to talk to. Though it is related somehow. WAIT!!!!! What do I meant by it is related? What has Credit Card got to do with Sesame Chicken? What about Roast Lamb? What about Barbequed Chicken? bla bla bla…

Grandpa Story Begins

Well, let me tell you something what it all has to do with a credit card. First and foremost, getting a credit card is very easy nowadays in our time. Unlike our parents and their parents time where only a selected few have their own credit cards. A credit card is now not considered a liability. It is more like a tool or a convenience when one does not have enough cash or in need to pay something high in value but afraid to bring loads of $$$ in cash terms.

So what does that got to do with Sesame Chicken? Of course, we eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep almost everyday of our life. Sometimes we do it too routine, we forgot how to enjoy life. That is why to me, I enjoy having a good sesame chicken dish with friends. Now there are many dishes along the way (beer…. ahemz… whisky… ahemz) , but what about when the bill is called? Of course, everything could be solved with just a credit card. Imagine a bill totaling USD300 (RM900) and no way am I going to pay those in cash. So a credit card is indeed a convenience.

Now there is a downside for this.

The downside of mismanaging your credit

Everyone knows having a credit card also has it’s downside. This problem happens when one spend lavishly and spent it on things they desire and not on things needed. Well, desire is one thing but over spending on too many ‘desired’ stuffs will definitely affect our credit management. Yes, when we spend more than we earn, we will definitely have problems resolving all the debts incurred from the credit card spending. I am definitely talking about credit cards and if you need to know credit report, you can always try something like any site where they will give you a free credit score report in order to gauge your credit level.

Low Credit Score Comic

Of course, if you know you have credit score, you could always do like the above. Haha.. which in a way it hardly works, it is a comic for what it is.

Now what would you do if you have low credit score then? What should you do? How would you manage? Now would you like to listen to my advice?

Solution to a Low Credit Score

Sadly, not many people in Malaysia is really concerned about this. Those days, our parents save and save in order to survive and to ensure that we have a better life than them. Due to that, most children take for granted and spend like kings and queens. Well, indeed unlike those times, now we can spend more than how it was but also without proper planning, one is going to get a bad credit score for themselves.

Low Credit Score How To Comic

So how was mine solved? I invested. I saved. I practically hardly go out, not to mention I do not smoke (saves a lot compared to those who smokes), I only drink when it’s an occasion (unlike those who goes clubbing and drinking parties), does online shopping (saves petrol, saves car and engine wearing out, saves from washing the car, saves the hassle of choosing items and fighting with the crowd in a queue). Ridiculous for some of you, well it should be. Though that is my way of handling it.

Why not you tell me how you do yours? How do you handle your savings from your work/parents?

[Live] Ubud sightseeing

Posted by danielctw On May - 4 - 2011

3rd day in Bali. This time we were at the temple which I’ve been to a year ago. They call it the Holy Spring Temple. People or the locals come over here and go into the water and wash their faces. It’s all in Ubud. There was this hot water rising from the pond too. Weird. But amazing. Weird enough we took an upskirt photo.

Temple Image

After that the next destination was at BAS agrowisata, where we tasted the luwak coffee. Hnmmm… still tasted as nice. It was around Rp.50000. Not bad and we got free tasting of a lot of other types of coffee. Arabica (McDONALD’S coffee), Bali coffee, ginseng coffee, female coffee (yes there was a coffee this name). Though we didn’t get to try the male coffee as its expensive.

Mt Batur Scenery

Time to move on and now we are at the restaurant called Grand Puncak Sari Kintamani. From here we could Mt Batur, an inactive volcano. Superb view and the food is so so. Well price was Rp.80000 and after tax it was Rp.97000. 21% tax.

Moving ahead it was a rush straight back to Uluwatu to catch the sunset. The driver (Angus) drove at his best and when we reached there it was 615pm. Sun is still there. Too bad clouds are there too. Darn…. so didn’t get to take sunset photo again. Nevermind tomorrow will be the last time we could take.

[Live] First Day in Bali

Posted by danielctw On May - 3 - 2011

Haven’t been doing this for awhile. So since have a few time here and in the hotel, I then decided to do some short post about my first day in Bali 2011. Yes there was a trip in 2010 and I haven’t written anything yet.

So not to delay any further. First day was officially 2nd May 2011. 1st May was instead checking in to hotel. Our driver drove us starting at 830am and off we go to Nusa Dua (the place that I didn’t get to visit during my last visit here). Though we had a quick detour and went to had a time at a dance being performed. It was a role play dance performance with humour. The price was Rp.80000. Expensive.

Finally Nusa Dua was next. Looks like nothing much for me here though. More for people who loves watersports. I guessed the driver was promoting the events there but we weren’t interested. So off we go to our next destination.

Temple in Bali

We were off to Taman Ayun Mengyi Royal Temple. Unlike the temples I visited previously, this one had lots of people, where we got to interact with the people there. There was this Balinese girl over there who thought that we were from Korea (I was wearing South Korea jersey) kept singing “Merah Merah Merah” as me, my bro and Yong wore red. Hahaha… was so funny. By the way entrance fee was Rp. 3000. The people there posed for the camera.

Daniel at Pacung Restaurant Bali

Finally time for lunch. We were brought to a place which is Pacung Restaurant. It was a buffet. Initial price was Rp.80000 and the food was ok. Though after tax (yes government tax…..) the total was Rp. 96000 after 20% tax. Roars.

Floating Temple Bali

Finally next destination, it was Ulundanu Bratan Temple. Superb place. The temple is seperated from the land. The view was magnificent. You’ll know once I start posting photos from the NIKON D300 instead from the HTC. The entrance fee was Rp. 10000. Something funny happened again. A group of locals wanted to take photos with us. Must have been the Korea jersey. Epic okay. Finally time to go to our next destination.

Penis Like Woor Ornament

Tanah Lot…. the famous place in Bali. Supposed to be there for a sunset photo. Too bad, it wasn’t meant to be. There were too much clouds. On the way there, many shop peddlers were selling souvenirs. One of them is a wooden penis. Hahaha.

Darn…. finally nothing much, its time to go back to our hotel.

WHEN is Daniel’s royal wedding?

Posted by SWei On May - 1 - 2011

Hi everyone, it’s sweister the monster here subbing in for Daniel again. Hahahaha.

Soooo, hands up for anyone who watched the live broadcast of the Royal Wedding last Friday! Call me a mainstream junkie but ask any fairy tale loving girl and she’d tell you how romantic Prince William and Kate’s wedding was!

It was indeed a dream came true spanned from the likes of Cinderella and Snow White where the commoner got whisked away in her knight in shinning armour. I’m glad I watched the live broadcast of the wedding. (The whole ceremony till the kiss! Had to go back to studying after that.) It was so sweet, so romantic! The dress was alright, in my opinion. Not quite a trained eye for fashion, let alone bridal fashion but it was pleasant- I like the bodice from upwards but not so much on the puffy bottom.

Despite all the glitz and glamour of a ROYAL wedding, one can’t help but to feel heartache over the elephantine sum spent on just ONE occasion like that. Money, money, money! Tuition fees for UK universities just keep skyrocketing… budget cuts everywhere and they dare have such extravagant wedding celebration. T_T

Oh well, let’s just give the newlyweds a break, shall we? And shift our focus to our very own Daniel.

Seriously, don’t you want to get married as well after watching such well documented royal wedding? This whole wedding extravaganza inevitably attracts the ultimate question: WHEN is Daniel’s very own royal wedding? Hahahaha. With all the countries hopping he’s doing right now, one might think he’s looking for the perfect honeymoon location. ;) Bugger’s living the life of a free man traveling here and there!

Hahaha.

Now I should be back to revising my ‘Confessions’ topic. Exam’s on the 9th!

Or perhaps look for ways to bid for Kate Middleton’s transparent dress.

I want to seduce Prince Harry when I go to Wales for my final year of my degree. Kidding. Haha.
