It is now October 2010. It has been like a hectic lifestyle for me this year with loads of events and photos and also mainly due to travel. Unlike last year where the main part of the travel plans is to Lhasa, Tibet. This year the places I have gone are Indonesia (Yogyakarta, Bali, Jakarta), Philippines (Manila, Vigan) and finally to Taiwan (Taipei, Shihlin, etc). That’s like load of travel plans I had this year. 3 different destinations and the amount I spent was only RM4k++ or the equivalent of USD1.5k inclusive of flight expenses.

The price there stated above is definitely cheaper than my 1 time travel to Tibet in year 2009 that reached around RM7000. As most of the time package of traveling in the places specified is usually tour group prices, the only thing that one can get it cheaper is by going on your vacation with cheap airline tickets. Imagine going to a place by flight with only RM9 (USD3) with a tax of RM30 (USD10) for a return journey. That will be the most awesome thing to do. Save on flight and enjoy the rest of it on the trip instead for example food, shopping, souvenirs, spas, mountain climbing and some scuba diving.

Isn’t that what we all wanted, to enjoy the trip more than paying for the flight ticket. That is unless you’re someone who enjoys sitting at the first class seat. This is definitely not me.

I wouldn’t want to spend my cash on flights when I can at least use it to try weird stuffs like drinking from this hot pot of weird herbal soup with chicken remains.

Yummy~~~ I must say, when you’re hungry, you’re definitely not choosy. The above is a delicacy in one of the towns in Tibet.

In a travel, budget is important, as you will never know when you will be short of cash. Of course when you’re traveling always enjoy yourself and don’t constraint yourself with too minimal expenditure when you bring like RM500 for traveling but only spend like RM5. Well, you get the point. So just go ahead and enjoy. I know I will do that every opportunity I get travel and that’s what I want to tell other people who got that opportunity.

Time to relive the life of what has been happening just a few weeks ago at Luna Bar. There was a Vaseline Party and I was there with my dear Yen. Well, she got the invites. So seeing that it was getting late, I proceeded to shoot some photos of the event.chia

Little did I know was that there was a pool in between the stage and the crowd. Sad case, just when I left my zoom lens at home. Anyway have to make do with an UWA and a portrait lens. For those who are still clubbing they would have known, but for someone like me who has long past the age of the clubbing scene, I didn’t know.

Strange right, why would guys go to a Vaseline party? Well, looks like Vaseline can be used by both guys and girls but I somehow have this thing against using beauty products. Well, during my time in school, we used to call guys that used beauty and skin care products sissy guys. Those days, image was brought upon to the likes of Rambo, Samurai and the rugged bearded features. Those days, watching television you’ll see heroes all looking like that.

Fast forward to the present, now we don’t even see those kind of guys anymore being portrayed with the occasion of Rocky Balboa and Rambo making a comeback but now we get is metrosexual guys who wants to have clear fair skin. Seriously I couldn’t understand why the sudden change. Anyway that should be another topic. Talking about the event, lucky there was the lovely Jojo Struys to be the emcee for the night.

Of course, with a person like Jojo Struys on the stage, all the guys’ eyes were on her. Even girls were not spared.

The only photo I have with Timothy, co-founder of Nuffnang. (I know the photo lighting is bad *sobs*) Remember the photo before this, that’s none other than Dearest Yen. Anyway Nuffnang was the one who gave us the opportunity to go for this event. Definitely a big thank you to you boss Stewie.

In this Vaseline party, met up with lots of bloggers and friends. Glad to meet up with you people. Unlike previously where I was superbly active in attending events and activities, I am now becoming more dormant, preferably sitting at home or having my teh tarik with friends at the local mamak. Must be the sign of getting older and older.

Anyway, recently I have appeared lesser and lesser in my own blog, that’s because I am the one holding the camera most of the time. That’s just made it better because now I would have my hands busy taking photos of people especially Princess Yen.

Of course, we have guest artiste performing at this event. Yuna went up and sang a few songs including catchy hits like “Cinta Hari Raya” which is one of my favorite songs that night.

The only decent photo with a 50mm and shot at f4. As it was getting dark, that’s the best I could do to get a photo of her and the band. Of course, here’s one close shot of her with Yen.

Of course, last but not least, during the start of the show, we have the crowd lighten up a bit with the appearance of Quah Jen Han.

Quah Jen Han cracked me up with his jokes. Not bad, I love his jokes.

All in all what an event it was at Luna Bar. Well, looking back, I am now wondering where did all those Vaseline go at my home that I got from the goodie bag.

Of course, finally got to meet with ShaolinTiger (since he was the official photographer) and took a photo with him.

The Takers?? Which Taker am I? Surprisingly this is just the beginning. After taking the quiz, I found out that I am this taker.

Judging from the quiz, I am the Leader. Ahhh… I must say this really suits me well. That means I am a person behind the operation, and also figuring out about the situation. So basically, I am the brains behind the whole operation. Hey wait, I still don’t get what Takers really meant about?

Anyway so I changed it to suit myself.

Does that mean, one have to target something to take in heist? How about a robbery? This is definitely confusing. Actually this would help me understand what all the fuss this movie is about and why is everyone doing the quiz. Also there is a contest going on to win Sony Walkman!!!

The most embarrassing moment I had in office. It’s time to share a little bit about the blogger behind this blog. Well, at least I would love to get personal with readers of this blog.

This happened just a few days ago. Well, not that it’s worth mentioning but then sometimes it’s good to note that some people did have their most embarrassing moment and yes, we all have them.

This time I will share to you what had just happened a few days ago. If only I had noticed sooner, it wouldn’t have happened. It was already 4pm, and I had the urge to go to the washroom to answer nature’s call. Well, nothing wrong here, no no no… nothing like the case in “There’s Something About Mary”.

*WHAT THE FLYING FISH AM I TALKING ABOUT MYSELF GOING TO THE LOO???*

Well, after doing my Aaron Kwok hairstyle in front of the mirror, I proceed to walk down stairs. Mind you, the washroom in the office is located in the middle of the stairway. Here’s the illustration of how it looks like. After that I walked out of the washroom looking cool (Hohoho) then as I walked down the stairs walking towards the 3rd floor (mind you, the female toilet is between 4th Floor and 3rd Floor) I see the women there stealing glances at me.

I thought to myself, “Must have been my Aaron Kwok hairstyle!! Sweet!!”
Then suddenly I see one of the people there laughing. I find that there’s something wrong.

“It must have been something else.”

Then it became clear, OH CRAP!!!! MY FLY IS UNZIP!!!

Am so lucky that those people are from another floor.

It was Friday, 1st October 2010 and it was Sasa Colors Fragrance Award 2010 in Sunway Pyramid. Considering that it’s also working day, some arrangements were made so that I could attend this event at 3pm. Well, little did I know that this was how the stage would look like though. Some recap, I got lost in Sunway Pyramid mall trying to find Starbucks as I hardly go to Sunway Pyramid. Looks like there were 2 Starbucks Coffee outlet and Sasa stage is just right below it. Sad case for me.

This was how it looked like 1.5 hours before the event. Well, since it’s still mightily early.Then it was 3pm and finally it was all going to begin. Xandria Ooi came on stage and as always with bloggers and people from the media, too many people crowded around to take photos. I gave up taking a full front view of Xandria Ooi and instead just took a simple one instead. She is the emcee for the event.

Let’s see the stage in close up. Then you would be able to visualize where Xandria Ooi stood from the earlier picture.

Like everyone else, I had to make my presence felt at Sasa’s 3rd Fragrance Award event even if I don’t stand out. By the way, I find it strange as to why I am there. There should be more girls covering the event as it’s Sasa but am glad to know that there are actually men fragrance too.

Yes, that’s my signature (the glowing one) alongside other bloggers that were there. What I can see is that mine was the only male signature there. *cries*

As there are about 40+ bloggers and members of the media and VIP with cameras and videos, getting a clean shot is definitely painstaking. With the amount of people in a small area, it’s definitely hard. That’s because I love to take photos without the need to rush.

Wonders why no one took a photo of these stuffs? Ahhh the bokeh, the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D has served me well.

Anyway we were given a show by this gentleman here singing an old piece. Not a bad voice. Nice…

Of course, realized he was wearing Armani Exchange. *coughs* Hey girls out there, look somewhere else okay. Of course, since this is a Fragrance Award, there is bound to be models parading the fragrances. Here are 2 good mediocre shots.

Now if only no heads was blocking me when I was trying to take front view of these photos.

Of course how were the fragrance voted then? An excerpt from the press release.

The panel of judges which comprises local celebrities such as Amber Chia (Top Model), Sazzy Falak & Nazril Idrus (Celebrity Couple), Awal Ashaari (TV Host) and Owen Yap (Award Winning TV Host) , contributed 40% of the points that went to determine the winning fragrances. The remaining 40% was contributed by the general public while the balance 20% was obtained from the results of fragrance sales tabulated up until 30 September 2010.

Sa Sa was pleased to announce the winners of the Fragrance Awards 2010 for the six award categories as follows:

• Best Men’s Fragrance – Boss Bottled Night from P&G PRESTIGE

Now at least the vote is not that bias. Anyway what most people have been waiting for was an appearance by one of the cover faces of Sasa and that’s none other than Nora Danish.

Ahemz… how come this guy gets to let Nora Danish hold his arm. *Jealous* Since Daniel Chew here  is relatively unknown.

Guessed this is a life of a celebrity. Of course in this event I got to meet the bunch of bloggers whom I haven’t met for quite some time due to my time constraint. Good to meet new friends and old friends once again.
