Keisuke Honda’s an Inspiration

Posted by danielctw On June - 26 - 2010

Honda, the power of dreams. Well, it’s been proven. Honda is once again the one to ensure that Japan has got what it takes to go pass the group stages in the World Cup. Now that’s excellent play from Keisuke Honda.

Keisuke Honda Prepares

Being caught up with the FIFA World Cup 2010, the feeling of the whole universe watching a football game is exhilarating. That explains how lazy a person I’ve become these past few weeks to be blogging. Finally a team I am supporting (underdogs for the World Cup) has qualified and gone past the group stages. Of course if Malaysia were to qualify for World Cup, I’ll be supporting my country the whole way, but that’s not to be.

Keisuke Honda who plays for CSKA Moscow scored on the first group stage match. With the final group game playing against Denmark and with better goal difference with Denmark, team Japan needed only a draw to qualify pass the group stage. Once again, they prove it better with a marginal win of 3 – 1 against Denmark.

Honda was instrumental as was Hidetoshi Nakata during his playing days at Japan. Well, for someone who watches the previous World Cup, Nakata was the main man of Japan of the early 2000s and 1990s. Let’s hope Japan would play better as they go on to the next stage.

Honda Scores and Celebrates

The first goal was from a free kick, Tomas Sorensen couldn’t do anything, and from then onward it was a blow to the Danish team with every attack they gave, it shook the post or somehow goals didn’t connect. I guessed I will be going to Pasar Malam to get my World Cup jersey. (I’ve got no $$$ cannot buy original)

Keisuke Honda did a great job for his country. Now time for me to emulate what he’s doing or rather some part of him. I am going to run in Standard Chartered KL 21km Half Marathon on Sunday. So it’s gonna be a tough one, but let’s see. Getting prepared, I bought the things that I wanted to get myself more prep-up than usual. Here are the stuffs I got.

New Balance Equipments

New Balance shoes (30% off).                                                          New Balance socks (RM18).

SCKLM 2010

My Race Kit (Check out my number, faster go and buy your 4Ds or “ma piao”.

Some other stuff I would like to get

Waist Belt or Pouch to put my car keys, possible with a number Holder.

Most probably tomorrow I’ll be getting those things. Run is gonna start around 630am and let’s hope I better my time compared to last year’s run. Time to beat is 2:30:00. Now I can’t say I don’t have motivation to run, as I have what I needed.

Current practice schedule

700pm – 5km
700am – Park at USJ 10km
So if you’re thinking of joining me for future runs, why not take part in these runs that I’ve registered.

Shape Men’s Health Putrajaya Night Run (12km)
Penang Bride Half Marathon (21km)

Till then.

Boost for Japanese exam

Posted by danielctw On June - 18 - 2010

I would have updated my blog by now, but these few days have been really busy for me. With a Japanese exam lurking in the midst, I can only post this much. Though my mind is now filled with lots of Japanese words, and trying for the first time to really study for exam.

Yes, I used to not study that much in my days as other stuffs can just be played with words but not Japanese. So here’s to motivate myself and to learn some katakana. My hiragana is okay, but my Katakana is no where perfect. I don’t even know how to write certain letters.

katakana table

Here’s what I am learning at the beginning of the chapter now.

日本語を話すのは難しいです。 – のは form
私はえをみるのがすきです。 – のが form
かぎをかけるのを忘れます。 – のを form

Complicated right?

Everyone please pray for me or wish me luck for tomorrow’s exam yeah? Then I shall see whether I should proceed to Advance Class or not!

SCKL Marathon 2010 is Coming

Posted by danielctw On June - 14 - 2010

It’s now the middle of the year 2010 and boy, the year passed by so fast, in a blink of an eye and in no time I’ll be an uncle to most people. I’ve joined running events just a year ago and this time the Standard Chartered KL Marathon is back and yes, last year it was my first time running a 21km event. This time I am back again and no.. I won’t be running a 42km event but still with my 21km running event.

How about some memories of the last Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009. To read about my last encounter a year ago, follow this link to that post. Well, some photos weren’t released that year and I felt that it’s time to rekindle that experience once again.

KL Marathon 2009 Running Vest Man Boob View

Ah, just right after the run, I had my breakfast or lunch at a mamak store in Wangsa Maju. Not bad I must say, and that was how the logo looked like a year ago. Kinda plain I must say. Eh wait, whose body was that? And how come the arm like damn fat like that? Eh, what are you all looking at? It’s only to let you guys/gals to focus on how the vest looked like a year ago.

TM iTalk Whoa IDD Function

Posted by danielctw On June - 3 - 2010

TM iTalk, after what has been ongoing for a few months, it’s no wonder that it’s kinda addictive going live with social network on TM iTalk. After introducing this unique service in April 2010, it’s time to actually tell you what I have been doing with it.

As I am a constant traveler and when I do travel, I need cheap alternatives to calling back home. Yes, I know there are other online applications but due to me not getting a 3G service properly and with bandwidth cap, the best way would be to go IDD with iTalk Whoa. Here’s what I did. While on my hidden trip to another country in April, I just had to call back home, to tell my parents that I arrived safe and sound.

Being a traveler, sometimes going up to the hills of Mt Everest and experience the Tibet lifestyle, or visiting the temples of Bali, I will be glad to have an awesome IDD rate to call back in case of emergency.

Yes that’s me in Tibet with one of the traditional costume. But during that time, there wasn’t any iTalk Whoa. If only there was, then I can achieved very cheap call rates back home. Rather I could also sms. Wanna know why? Just look at the amazing rates they give.

iTalk Whoa IDD rates from China

It’s 11 cents per minute if you’re an iTalk Whoa user. Not bad, talking on the phone would be like 5 minutes. That’s only 55 cents for 5 minutes. Arghhhh… if only I had iTalk Whoa that time (oops that time not yet launched).

Well, where the heck did I get the rates from?

Now how about you people out there? Impressed? I definitely am. Looks like my next trip I can use it again.
