It’s the new year, celebrate and yes next week is the Shouter’s Karaoke gathering

The hype is on the advertising current up to date news. Seeing that it’s only fair I should have my say of this incident, well, so that’s what I am going to do now. No, I am not gonna say bad things and demean any company but what is my view that what shouldn’t happen at all.

I am sure you know, Advertlets was created by Josh Lim and yes, it was one of the main blog advertising company to go on par with Nuffnang on it’s early stages. During those times, many people say they rather choose Advertlets over Nuffnang due to the high pay rate and the ads Nuffnang were giving were so little, they find that they rather stick with Advertlets. Well, that was how the scenario was at the initial stage. In the beginning, many were comparing both of them like Durians D24 vs D101.

Hmm.. okay. bad analogy, but you get my point, both does the same thing (practically) but it was up to the public to give their favoritism to the one they like best.

A costly mistake was done by Advertlets, when you forget to renew your domain name, now that is one huge costly mistake. (Even I renew my domain for a few years) Well, that part is still okay, but with every blog with Advertlet ads running and redirecting to another page, now that’s so freaking weird. Not only that bloggers will lose its’ readers, the bloggers will also find it a nuisance. So with the temporary solution being made, most bloggers have removed Advertlets on their blogs. Now imagine this, how many linkbacks that Adverlets lost? Or rather think it in another way, what will the Advertisers think about Advertlets?? It’s like they’re now trapped in their own cage (I know that feeling!!)

But to say this is a blessing in disguise for Nuffnang (yeah it is), it’ll be an understatement. It’s indeed a blessing. With their competitors facing this calamity, I wonder it wouldn’t affect their future relationships with the advertisers. Now even they have to contend with Nufflets and GrabMyAds.

I can imagine Boss Stewie‘s face a bit light up with all this thing going on. Well, to me in a business world, who wouldn’t! Guessed it’s like life, a small mistake can really destroy oneself. Same thing to a relationship, a small mistake might mean a tear in a relationship which takes a few years to build.

After evaluating the recent short so called fame I had, I was trying to understand, what it means to be a celebrity blogger. Well, back then most of my posts has been rants and my point of view on life, food stuffs and some crappy stuffs. After that newspaper article I guessed it’s time for me to think what makes a blogger a celebrity.

I would also like to thank all those who gave me some words of encouragement, be it positive or a positive critism. Well, I love to know what I can improve on. Not every person learns something in an instant.

Everyone has it’s uniqueness, well, as mentioned, Kenny Sia uses his way of presenting things in an interesting way, with his quick wit and his play on certain issues, no wonder people are so into his blog. Well, how about blogger cum politician Jeff Ooi, he started his blog with his photos and then his blog became more of a political point of view blog. Yes, I can see all of them are unique. How about the Jason Goh of smashpop.net? His photos… and his signature JUMP and LEAP. Guessed everyone has what it takes to be identified with the public.

I don’t jump as much as SmashPop (I failed in jumping) and I don’t blog as so called creative as Kenny Sia, heck, what can I do? I am glad someone told me that it’s never easy to be a celebrity blogger, but I think I wouldn’t have that chance to say it elsewhere if it wasn’t for The Star. I know that this won’t really get me anywhere with the girls where I can sit and watch them like I own the world.

People ask me again, why don’t you get your blog name as danielchew.com, HELLLO….. I actually wanted to, but you see, that domain name was bought by someone else just when I wanted to get it. Dang… now I am stuck with danielctw.com. But why the name Weird Weird Denial? Answer : I deny that everything’s weird two times. But of course what people deem weird to them, I deny that it’s weird. You know, not many people will do the things I do when I am on a trip with friends.

But not all things are weird, there are few outings which are taken of me not doing something weird. Oh my, like the day I hiked up Bukit Tabur, the day I went diving in Redang, and of course the countless gatherings (countable I think) I went with Shouters of ShoutOut.

I am sure some of you who knew me would roughly know what this blog is all about! Well, so that you see, it’s not everytime I get to appear in the newspaper, especially The Star. Well, so far in my whole life, I think I appeared only once before this experience on both The Sun and The Star.The Effect

Still clueless on what I am getting at?? Wai Kee or Merdurian has talked about it on her blog and I guessed everyone knows my age by now. Dang…. so much for my secrecy of my age amongst Shouters and other bloggers likewise. Anyway this was the part that was in the newspaper.

Ya… the part where they talked about Kenny Sia was actually a one-off thingy. Well, people need examples right, so then that’s what I’m doing! It all happened a few days before Christmas that I so happened to chance upon an interview for new year resolutions. So then at first I thought why not?? I’ve been active in blogging ever since year 2003 with my first part of my blogging started in Xanga. Those days I was blogging inactively. A long way has come since year 2008.

Well, since that’s cleared, when are the other times that I appeared on Paper? It happened during year 2004. But it was for another purpose. So happened that I was part of a group posing for photographers for my graduation day. Yeah, we can say we’re the lucky ones.

But since I’ve got nothing better to do and MerDurian says I look different from the MyBlogLog avatar, here’s a simple explanation. The MyBlogLog avatar was taken when I was out at Pavilion, posing for a shot, while the one taken by The Star photographer was me at my laptop doing my daily blog. Dressing up really can change a person’s feature

Well, so now how to be famous?? Some people just can be famous with a picture of their ass and it gets people so tight up that it brings me to wonder. Too bad though I ain’t the ass kind of person. Guess life is just ain’t ass enough.

Well speaking of which… I guess this once in a lifetime opportunity doesn’t come that often for someone like me. Well, guess I can look forward to a different whole new year 2008 in here!
